Run a Kill-a-Watt on one of the big monitors and an LCD. Show how the power savings would pay for the new monitors in X months. Show how after that, it's completely increased profits.
They don't care about your eyes. Forcing them to change something for you makes them resent you. However, if you can save them money, now you're an asset.
Since it wasn't his OS to begin with, having been paid for by the previous employer, I'd say that's not Microsoft's problem. If he wants to continue developing, perhaps he should get a copy of the OS which is licensed for his use. It's not that expensive, really, especially when considering the overall value of your time when developing and testing software.
I get 24 down and 2 up, reliably, on my Time Warner cable line. not just on speed tests, either, I frequently see 3 MB/s (24 mbps) or higher from Microsoft, and on torrents.
Upthread it was mentioned that there were terrible internet speeds in Seattle. It doesn't surprise me. In cities, you have to deal with agreements with the utility companies preventing competition, and poor working conditions to reach the actual materials to be upgraded.
Numbers are reliant on testing of connections, not maximum theoretic amounts for an area. Many cities are harder to upgrade due to agreements between the cities and the utility companies granting monopolies so that they have no need to upgrade. And in other cases, it's because they would have to tear up the streets to upgrade the lines in any meaningful way. Head out of the city. Get a place in the suburbs that have been recently built. You'll find your high-speed broadband, waiting for you curbside.
Many families already rent a vehicle when driving out of state. Rental of that second vehicle would be more cost effective and efficient than purchasing the second vehicle, if it's only used one or two weekends per month. As a bonus, you're always driving a new-ish car, of the latest model, and it can change based on the needs of that special event! SUV for a family road trip, sporty coupe for a weekend getaway with the missus, the possibilities are endless, and much better than driving a 13-mpg Suburban 24/7 just in case you have to immediately leave work to drive 1800 miles for a surprise vacation to Yellowstone where you'll have to offroad to get to your cabin.
The motherboard DVI-D output on the HTPC my friend just built. Of course, he didn't know that until he had already bought and put it together about a month ago. This means he can't hook it up to his TV (still SDTV) with analog component cables, and had to buy a powered adapter to convert.
It's for this reason I think everyone should get two votes. One positive, and one negative. Since all the Republicans would vote *against* the Democrats, and vice versa, you'd get a real chance at having a third party in power.
Of course, that would never fly past the current congress to get to a point of Amendment...
My mom's Android phone came with one by default (Motorola Cliq) so I know they exist. Problem is, trying to guide her through finding the package would be impossible, and I'm not likely to see her for a couple of weeks.
I have to disable the networking on my PS3 to get Mercenaries 2 to load. Apparently, if the networking is enabled, and it has any problems talking to their server, or if their server times out, the game hangs and does not load. It's not every time that it hangs for me but it's well over half. I'd consider this limiting.
They made Assassin's Creed 2 for PC as well, you know.
Firefox, Firebird, Phoenix, Mozilla
Yep, 4 major revisions.
I loved XvT!
Also, Rebellion.
I wouldn't say it thrashes it...

To be fair, when that happens, there will be plenty of infrastructure to support it.

how many of the people in NYC have or want to buy cars?

No, it doesn't disappear, just gets thrown out of our atmosphere...
An excellent response. Living in Texas, I can agree with each of your observations.
But helium, as an element, can't be created.
Fusion?

The reactor he's supporting handles most of that. It's a class of breeder reactor.

I assume it's diesel, so you didn't need spark plugs?
Even though the new consoles are coming with a cable, they're not coming with an HDMI compatible HDTV, so are they still not HDMI ready?
