Bush doesn't care about looking climate change in Antarctica anyway? Heck, I'd be surprised if he can even spell A-N-T-A-R-C-T-I-C-A?!?!
For Bush, the only part of the world we need satellites aimed at is Iraq! He doesn't need satellites looking at the U.S., either -- he'll just tap our phones instead!
I've found Linksys to be the most popular ISP in Arizona, at least. I suppose it's popular in other states? Funny, they're not listed under ISPs in the phone book, though?
Perhaps the next generation of WiFi access protocols could allow you to add a name and address tag of sorts.
You do know that you can change the Wireless Network Name (SSID), don't you? Granted, it's limited to 32 alphanumeric characters (for linksys), but this should still let most people put their name and possibly street address.
Or you could look at it the other way around,... the fact the modern day Windows still has many characteristics of the early viruses. It apparently just "evolved" from the precursor viruses.
Of course, believers in the Flying Spaghetti Monster will have trouble with this theory,...
The real question is how many slashdotters would actually pay $299.99 for Microsoft Office 2003 Pro Full Edition (or **any** version, for that matter)?
You must still be somewhere on the slopes of the Mogollon Rim and not in Flagstaff, yet. The city is actually at 7,011 feet (or 1 1/3 miles) above sea level. Climb Humphrey's peak just north of the city, and you'll be at 12,633 feet.
. . . sitting in a movie theater, or even while in class!
I don't know about you, but if I was sitting in a movie theater, or trying to pay attention to a class lecture, and some nut was blabbering away on his cell phone, I think I'd probably want to kill him/her!
"In 1996, Wales founded a search portal called Bomis, which also sold photographs of softcore pornography until mid-2005. Because of his past position with Bomis, Wales was asked in a September 2005 C-SPAN interview about his involvement with what the interviewer, Brian Lamb, called "dirty pictures." In response, Wales described Bomis as a "guy-oriented search engine." In an interview with Wired, he also explained that he disputed the categorization of Bomis content as "soft-core pornography": "If R-rated movies are porn, it was porn. In other words, no, it was not." Wales is no longer actively involved in the company."
While Wikipedia itself was not directly funded by the porn industry, Mr. Wales did invest a significant portion of his personal income in the project, which partially did come from this involvement with Bomis.
I'm not so sure I like the idea of a moderation or approval system for wikipedia as much, since it would sort of interfere with wikipedia's mantra of, "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." However, I do think that it would be a good idea to require users to edit using an account, so that it's easier to track people that make changes (of course, this has been discussed on wikipedia before). It seems that many of wikipedia's problems are with anonymous editors either vandalising pages or adding their own personal blogs or spam sites to the external links sections of pages (linkspam). Requiring a login, while it may not eliminate the problem, would make it easier to deal with it by banning user accounts - if you ban an IP address, this causes problems for people on dial-up accounts or people with non-static IPs.
Is wikipedia planning on implementing this change to require a login anytime soon?
I just got a notice in my Google Talk account just now with updates to Google's Privacy Policy. This page actually has their privacy policy, with the old text they removed today in RED STRIKEOUT and the new stuff they added in GREEN UNDERLINE.
Considering a recent Slashdot story about an analyst's predictions that Google may be gearing up to compete against iTunes, combined with their recent launch of Google Video, I think they may be on to something.
And of course, combined with the fact that Microsoft is also interested in this market, I think 2006 could turn out to be the year of video and music downloading.
You'd think women would be falling head over heels to get into careers dominated by men! Particularly single women,... Then again, maybe nerds and geeks aren't as attractive as we originally though!
On the contrary, has anyone noticed that there seems to be more men going into nursing school lately? Aside from the opportunity for a good, stable, decent-paying (well, not as good as a physician, but not bad anyway) job, it's also a great way to meet girls!
Short and simple -- an overbearing government that feels it knows how to raise kids better than parents is using government schools to achieve it's agends with kids.
Unfortunately, the government has seen a need to step in because more and more parents these days have not seen the need to be involved with their children's lives. If the majority of parents out there would only take their heads out their a**es and actually communicate with their kids, we might not have such problems. The government was merely stepping in to fill the void - who could blame them, given the circumstances. Personally, given the fact the both of my parents have a combined IQ greater than President George W. Bush, I think I'd rather listen to my parents than the President,...
Back in the 'old' days, before G4 trashed TechTV, you could point some of the newer users to watch Call for Help, which usually had some pretty good, basic information about how to use computers better, and they would explain some of the major PC/internet applications in an easy-to-swallow format. More advanced people could get a bit more bang for the buck by watching The Screen Savers.
Unfortunately, this strategy was shot to pieces when G4 bought TechTV, created G4TechTV, fired everybody, then went back to G4 and torched TechTV entirely. Now, you really can't get anything from that network except for some stupid gaming ads and watered down tech news! And now, I just noticed that they apparently bought a couple of old reruns of The Man Show?!?! WTF?!?! I mean, I like the girls jumping on trampolines and all, but I'd hardly call this, "tech."
If this party were in the U.S., isn't it actually called the Communist Party? I mean, if communism is all about no private ownership, public property, and all that. Then again, I guess even in Soviet Russia, they pirate state property.
Or maybe it's, in Soviet Russia, state property pirates YOU!

1. Upgrade your Linksys Router's firmware.
2. Set up public (pay) wi-fi access point in your home/apartment.
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!!!
In Soviet Russia, Linksys OWNS YOU!
Of course, believers in the Flying Spaghetti Monster will have trouble with this theory,...
You're funny! But I own the rights to the usage of the term, "Anonymous Coward." Please pay me in cash. Thank you, come again!

Damn. My IP address scored "-1 Troll".
if some poor schmuck has saved the very first piece of spam email sent,. . . EVER!
1. Send up rocket to collect space junk and bring it back to earth.
2. Look at said space junk for any resemblance to the Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln, or anyone else famous.
3. ????
4. Sell said space junk to Golden Palace. Profit!

Umm, actually Doc Brown used lightning to send Marty back to the future, or forward in time by 30 years. Just sayin'.
there's still no cure for cancer.

Or something like that,... I digress!
