What he's doing is certainly useful, but not new. I could just as easily say that WebDDM is a solution to the age-old problem of styling menus... but people have been doing that for years. (Not that WebDDM isn't great:p)
But then again, every techie I know has a non-techie spouse/friend/parent
Seriously? Most geeks I know don't have many friends at all, let alone NON-techie friends;)
I don't necessarily agree, but only because I haven't thought about the issue. I'll just say that no matter what crazy protection schemes they come up with, somewill WILL break it.
When I'm talking to people, and they know I'm a geek, they'll frequently ask me "hey... have you heard of that Mozilla browser?" I've never had anyone mention Opera before.
And remember when they released the first few updates (of Firefox), they were worried their servers would have trouble because of the mass amounts of people using Firefox? Bittorrent would solve that issue.
Unless you have a lot of developers, which probably requires a lot of money - which is the only reason that Apple, Microsoft and Linux distros can survive. They have a lot of developers.
It says that Windows XP performs at "blazing speeds". Is that due to MS? ;)

Not exactly... a lot of PCs come without floppy drives. Think small Dell desktops and most laptops.
really be responsible for parts of a game that you can only get to by applying modifications?
Seriously. That's like, a lot.

No, not exactly: http://switzerland.isyours.com/e/guide/religion/is lam.html
;)
The second largest religion in Switzerland
The thing is, haven't other anti-spyware software companies done the same thing? I heard tell of stuff like this happening in Adaware a while ago.
How many terrorist attacks have there been on Switzerland? ... ...
None. A stance of neutrality is still the best.
I thought it sounded like "panda", which would be fitting since the company's targetting China.
Seriously? Beer is the first thing that came to mind?
Crap... now everyone knows my password :/
I'll sell you the goatse image on a CD - no copyright protection!

I think it must be (less wide spread in the US).

That's true...

Yeah, not many people will have data on their toe nails... ...Yeesh!
Now the geeks with really long, feminine fingernails will be the envy of everyone... and everyone will be buying those fake plastic fingernails.
Yeah, my first thoughts exactly. This is another reason for me to stop chewing my fingernails... better whip out the clear nail polish again...

Really?
I've asked a lot of Windows users what they think of Mac. And they say, "I don't like it because it's different".
Not to mention that Linux is GREAT as a server OS. Who wants to run a SkyOS server?
I've always thought (because people have informed me) that Debian is the most secure distro... what went wrong?
I don't agree. He obviously knew he was doing something malicious. You don't accidentily write a virus.
They need to stop focusing on UI and start focusing more on security, speed, and stability. Translucency? Please... no one cares.
