I'd say 40% volume (ignoring rounded edges) is a pretty substantial difference, and volume is more or less the definition of "size". If all you care about is footprint, then yes, they are similar.
Basically, it is a short piece of music that is to be played as slow as possible. In the church where it is played, it is expected to last more then 600 years. Ironically, it started with a pause of 17 months.

It was pretty obvious to me that the smoke monster was not able to do any harm to that cave itself (He even said so), so why would you need to protect it with the pylons? Also, technology breaks down or can be switched off, as Sayid did.
Jollys FastVNC is not free in any sense of the word, except "free to try". It may be worth 40$ but Chicken of the VNC is free, open source and totally adequate.
The Xbox plays media content from USB Mass Storage just fine. This is talking about storing game data (savegames, probably DLC and so on), which is at the moment only possible on the internal hdd or custom memory cards.
While you are right, the price is definitely too high, the "buy a graphics card" point is moot. At home we have 4 different pieces of hardware (work macbook, home macbook, SO home notebook, netbook) none of which is upgradeable with a new graphics card. The desktop pc is going away for most people, because notebooks are so convenient.
I would like to point out a particular risk of contracting measels at young age. I think it is called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subacute_sclerosing_panencephalitis where a child under 2 has a measel infection and then lives on normally for a few years (Wikipedia talks about 6-15) and suddenly the brain breaks down. So you see a fully functional, normal child grow up and then degenerate to a state of complete mental disfunction. "Death usually occurs within 3 years."
The risk is 1 in 100000 if you get measels. In addition to putting up your own child to that risk, you put other parents childs at risk, that may have specific medical reasons for not getting a vaccine.
You need to assess for yourself if you suspect the risk of vaccination as being higher than this and other possible complications.
It makes more sense the other way around. You plug all your cables (Power, usb input devices, speaker, ethernet,...) into your Monitor and can connect your notebook to it via a single cable.
I appreciate your opinon, but would like to suggest another way to handle it. I tested this in Safari / Leopard:
If you want to stop the loading of a page, click with the mouse button, but do not release it yet. Now look at the screen. Is it still showing the x? Then release the button. Has it changed to the relaod symbol? Then move the mouse away and release. The button does not change while you hold the mouse button.
Another idea, the clickable region of the "stop"-state of the button in Safari is quite a bit bigger than the reload-region, so it is possible to click a bit to the left to prevent accidetial reloading. Doesn't help with your problem #2.
Not perfect solutions, but workable if you prefer to use more space for the url entry field or other stuff.

"Mac Mini sized"? Are you kidding? The Mac Mini is less than half the size!

Sounds a bit like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_Slow_As_Possible

You know, in Korea...
This deserves a much better score. lol.

You could just skip that and pick your 5 out of the other 8 remaining requirements.

I'd say most (not all) places where I would be gaming have a decent connection to the internet.

Actually, there is a "Golden Age". Closing the circle to the article topic.
Adobe is not interested in this because they want you to have a reason to buy their existing or upcoming server products.

ethernet to my display just doesn't sound useful.

There's probably a refId for Slashdot somewhere...
Are you trying to say that one-fourth of Americans are retarded?
That denominator seems way too big...
(disclaimer: true worldwide)
Thanks for the heads up, amazing read.
Gameplay is shitty, though.

Hey, I was just suggesting workarounds to handle your problem, assuming you were interested in using Safari.
I think F8 also works in some win-browsers

In your current installation of FireFox, double-click your title bar.
Wow, it minimizes the window into the dock. Didn't test chrome.
