    Dotcom is a New Zealand citizen, he got his citizenship just prior to his arrest. Also the serach warrant was invalid.

    This is why the cops, spies and the rest of Law 'n' Order establishment stuffed up, they did not bother to check and assumed he was just some 'Johnny Foreigner'/ NZ Resident.

    In NZ there have been a number cases of people being charged hundreds of dollars for replacement car key fobs.

    The industry answer was " 'Cos we can". The small claims tribunals thought that was a bit shit.

  7. 'Fit for purpose' is a common legal requirment (in my country anyway) and return the item to the seller for replacement or get your money back. Especially if it failed in a year.
    Is your reasonable expectation that a set of headphones should last less than a year under normal usage?

    The Apple X is now only warranted for 1 year and is over $1k however it is not what I would call a resonable expectation that the device should only last a year.
    Perhaps because my country gives a small s*it about consumers over producers.

    In NZ a "restraint of trade" clause against an individual is enforceable.
    However it can be challenged in Court as unreasonable; in that instance the Court will amend the RoT clause to make if reasonable and then apply it to the facts.

    So the USA abandons 'Leader of the (free) world' appellation. Who gets to have the moral authority now? Looks like Europe i.e. France/ Germany are the best contenders.

    In New Zealand the Republicans would count as extreme Right and the Democrats as Centrist :-) .
    We have a loony-tunes Libertarian party called ACT which has 1 seat (of 120) in Parliament which exists solely at the discretion of the centre right (& governing) National party with a 1.07% share at the '14 election under our MMP system .
    ACT would be where the Republicans sit on our political spectrum.

    So, yeah, the DF would be considered far-right in our context.

    BTW that 24-year rule seems a bit harsh.
