When I perceived anti-Airbus comments from/. my reply was called flamebait.
Those people who are spreading fear of this aircraft because of its size (including whichever Americans are simply jealous of Airbus) should be told that it has a far smaller capacity increase over the 747 than that plane had over the 707 and DC-8.
Under the law, 'real property' has a special meaning. When you wrote that, you actually meant 'personal property', which is quite different. 'Real property' is land, which belongs to the Crown no matter who holds the title to it. This is why we have 'title deeds' to land, but not to things like CD players. But I digress.
Under the 1968 Copyright Act, it is legal to copy one chapter of a book for personal use, e.g. as study notes. I wonder, is it also legal to copy one track of a CD for personal use? And if so, why not the whole album, one track at a time?
The sticker is wrong. Evolution is not 'a theory regarding the origin of living things'. It is several theories which try to explain what happened after the origin. One of these is Darwin's theory of evolution by means of natural selection.
The record means nothing to me, as there were so many things done to the Prius that it's not a Prius any more. Don't expect any Prius you buy to be capable of 210 km/h.
Is the Prius actually a hybrid car, anyway? Doesn't all the energy to drive it come from the petrol in the tank?
And Jaws turned out to be a good guy in the end. Who'd'a thunk it?
Roman lookout: Oh no! It's Archimedes! We're screwed!
Archimedes [shaking his fist]: Romanes eunt domus!

Probably the first one. Still, no worries, eh?
Would you take a cheque from this government?
Earth has lost its mantle (har har) as the largest rocky planet in the known universe, but it's still the MOST DENSE!
"Copyrighted", not "copywritten". Why do so many people not know?
George Lucas approves! I guess it must be good then.
He approved Episode I, as well.
Dear Sub-Editor,

No, they used a visual cue to virtually remove the metaphor so that Americans could understand it.
The school was not injured. :)
Oh but it was - the brass got egg on its faces. There is no worse injury possible

There ought to be a Eurovision Software Contest.
So that's why LiveJournal was down!

It's not a theory; it's a theorem. Different animal altogether.
The CD was announced in 1982 by Phillips and Sony. I knew a guy whose folks had a CD player in 1985; they couldn't have been introduced in that year.

If Americans learnt readin' and writin', voting machines would be completely unnecessary.
In other news, did you know that Eliot Ness became chairman of Diebold in 1944?
ah, they must have seen sense.

I searched for "previously aware of" in alt.fan.douglas-adams between 1 May 1981 and 2 Dec 1993.
Yeah. 'acryonym' = 'word that is not cold'.
