  3. Robot Sues! on Two Legged Robot Sets Speed Record · · Score: 1

In all seriousness though, in the video it looked like the robot wasn't balancing itself. Instead it was attached to an arm coming from the center of the circle the robot was walking in to keep it upright. I have to say that this will be a lot more impressive when they can pull this off without having to hold the robot's hand.

The bigwigs at the big N in general are famous for getting people excited over things we already knew by slipping in a bite or two of actual news with the repetitve stuff. So yeah, in three sentences, here is all of the new information safely extracted from a much larger presentation.

  7. Will there be a heat issue? on 32 GB Flash Storage Drive Announced · · Score: 1

My main concern is whether there will be a heat issue or not. I regularly run Slax off of my thumb-drive and the heat the thing gives off after about 10 min is unbearable (but it makes a good handwarmer in the winter). If this is what I get from 1 gig, what can I expect from 32?

  12. missed the point on Nintendo Promotes Music Piracy? · · Score: 2, Insightful

Half the point of this article is nonsense. It is written as a farce on the entire idea that the big N is promoting piracy. The fact that an artist giving away free copies of his music is illegal is ridiculous, just a ridiculous as a poster making the post of "Yams yams yams yams yams." That's why Yams's comment was included in the story, to point out the farce. If you need help with that, imagine it's Jon Stewart reading the article out loud.

Your examples are all bad. In each case there is really no alternative to use. If you have a 45 minute drive to work, the option to boycott cars is hardly possible.
In our case, something better has already been designed and we have the power to boycott. There are powerful alternatives (such as firefox)to use in a fight against M$.

  18. The bible is old. on Kansas Challenges Definition of Science · · Score: 1

In fact, the Hebrew/Christian story of Genesis has TWO (or more?) accounts of creation...

That is another thing people have to look at. Regardless whether you believe the bible or not, it is OLD! There are bound to be some trascription/translation errors made throughout it's history. Someone might have even changed (GASP!) parts to fit their ideology. If you do believe the Bible, then it is reasonable to say that you beileve that the story of Genisis is taken from Moses's account and that would make the story even older, and prone to even more mistakes.

One could argue that God would preserve His records in perfection, but that would also say that He would deny man the power of chioce, and I believe that is one of the reasons we were placed here. So He couldn't do that (writing by my beliefs here, I know someone will have a differing view). So He preserved what He could, giving us what is more than likely an incomplete Bible. There could have pure scientific fact written in there and it could have been lost due to time and replaced with "magic".

My other point I would like to say is that the people/prophets who wrote the Bible were not scientists. They could only explain what they saw in many instaces by saying things like "the sun stopped" and "the moon stood still" because of their point of view. The did not know scientific theory, so it was "Magic". Just because the Bible does not contain scientific knowledge, that does not mean that science is false, nor does it mean that the miracles performed involved no science. I believe that the creation did happen and that evolution was one method used during it (and yes, it continues now).

Actually Starfox was the first game cartridge to include a processor. Thats why nintendo made such a fuss, it turned the SNES into dual processor system. Otherwise, the processors have always been in the console.
