  1. What i would like to see on Concepts That Should Be Games? · · Score: 2, Interesting

I had a concept for a game , it was kind of like a massive RPG .
in the spirit of elite , but with planet sections (which would work kind of like morrowind , daggerfal etc) you could buy new ships and fly them around wing commander style and fly to difrent worlds and get jobs ,And you could eventualy buy your own world and start to produce things managed in a sim city kind of way where you build it up and can have custom garages for your space ships and a trophy hall .
In the game would be a games console for which you could buy mini games to play on it in your house/home planet/fortress ship or whatever . a kind of freeform RPG with space battles , world building and Galactic domination .
It would have to be on a scale unseen since the days of elite ...
You could get loads of difrent jobs etc well thats just me it may be a little tricky

However the human side wins out here , this is totaly unacceptable . they will have to have seperat entrances for men and woman as people are uncomfy with a member of th oposite sex seeing them in the all together(not everyone mind you) .I know its wrong and a body is just a body but that is still not a belive that everyone shares and people have issues about this.
If i want sweaty security gaurds seeing me in the buff i will get a website for it , I don't want to have this foist upon me by over zelous national security.

The industry is moving towards a near completly services based industry in several sectors .
Support revenue is the way of the future for software producers and its high time some people started to realise this .
OSS is the enzyme thats pushing us towards that quicker than we would have previously (speeding up the eveloution) goten there .
It will hapen and it would have happend without it ,.
Computing is going to be as much as an integral part of all peoples lives as the telephone is today
and in that kind of atmosphere there is alot of money to be made in support and services, people will need their computers more and more for everyday things (its nearly there already) and wont be willing to spend thousands on software each year

Perhaps a movie where you don't know whats going to hapen(unless you read the books) would be a little more exciting than another bleeding prequal , though yoda doing some cool jedi tricks would be cool

It was a vision of true freedom .What do laws that make the theft of ideas and works into criminal cases bring you but the missery and suffering of its peoples and the glory of the Industry.
I am not saying people should be allowed to break laws when it suits them , but there needs to be reason and logic to the laws that defend the rights of the individuals and the peoples as opposed to the big industry funded laws of today.

So many games fall short in the audio department because they decide that its resonible to skimp on the VO work . Now I am not suggesting they pay the outrageous union prices (Alot of us who do VO work and are non union will do it for a hell of alot less) , but they need to properly audition and not just throw the janitor on at the last minute(though some games luck out with asigning staff parts , DMA(now rock star north) infact used their marketing manager for one of the DJs on GTA3.
They need to take care not to taint their work with shoody poorly acted cheese ala Anime Dubbings.
A game can be a work of art , but if you just shove on bob from marketing who sounds like a squeaking rabbit as the all Macho one man army charichter then it can really blow the immersion.

So please please if your making a game that requires acting then please atleast audition properly and take care , there are plenty of younger actors and non union folks willing to work and hard just for the love of it (but we do prefer cash ;) ).
