    So it apears the only changes made are to remove brandings. So i would imagine it would run in a near identical fashion to RHEL ,

    all the info is on the main page(coral cach just incase) , i cant tell you definantly if they achive this goal , but I see very little reason as to why they shouldnt , unless redhat is not
    opening all its sources , which is unlikly.

    In the EU , All mobile telephones are able to dial an Emergency telephone number without any identification already due to some edicts iirc .Not sure if this is also true in the Canada or the USA , however i imagine they will have similar edicts .

    On one side its sure to gain Yahoo alot of goodwill , also hopefully increase the sharevalue.

    Also i would far rather spend my money on one than on a new season of Enterprise.
    I personaly thought it was the least enjoyable star trek ever , however there are far worse TV shows that havnt got canceld yet (anything involving reality TV).
    Come to think about it though , the worst star trek , is still rather good Sci-fi considering some of the other crap of the last few years .
    However i would far rather see a new season of Futurama , now there was some classic Sci-fi/comedy

    I dont mean to nitpick but apple only sells 3 Duel procesor machines to the consumer (not including Xservers) , as opposed to , 14 machines with single core, if you say only high end then you still have something like 6 or 7 single to 3 duel .
    However you are right , OS X really does love Multiple CPUs ,Apple developers have for a long time been able to justify coding for this .
    plus IIRC IBM is working on a duel core Power/pc chip right now , which i expect Apple will be more than happy to take advantage of.Which i assume will mean over the next couple of years Duel cores will slip down into the Imac etc .
    Thus a full line of computers with Duel core chips which also have the software to take advantage of it.
    Linux/BSD will also shine in this arena for X86 , just as they were the first areas to truely see wide spread use of AMD64

    Your probably quite safe aslong as you dont give your credit card to anyone packing a laptop ,a card scanner and a bag with swag written on it. Seriously how is this any less secure than handing it over to some random cashier with an offical scanner (one of the major CreditCard fraud vectors)

    It gives Sony plenty enough time to counter with a release title such as another a gran turismo or perhaps several other A1 titles, rather than holding off the big guns till initial sales dwindle .So this could infact end up hurting the sales of halo 3

    one of the main stumbling blocks, as I see it as to the adoption of OSS in western established firms is simple , Retraining.
    Sure its a one time cost , but its a very large one time cost in terms of man hours and fees , and alot of companys refuse to see the long term benefits.
    With a startup , you really dont have a problem like this and can employ people with the skill off the bat and/or training initialy in OSS( as opposed to MS software).

    The first computer i ever used was a zx spectrum , the first computer that ever made me feel pasionate about computing was a mac.
    I myself am severly dyslexic and dysphraxic and during my younger years had great difficulty in schooling, had it not been for the mac in our school i feel i would still be marked slow , the interface allowed me to put my thoughts down so other people could understand , it allowed me to excell and fill in a void which would have crippled my education.
    I owe you and your team alot as do many others who were in my situation.
    so tonight i shall open a 12 year old speyside single malt and drink a glass to honour your memory.

    Those days are long gone , my primary x86 laptop( Gericom , not well known outside germany ) runs debian unstable, after a quick ftp install all i have to do is type "apt-get install acpid" it really couldnt be easier , well infact it could and can be.
    Simply use suse 9.2 , it fully recognised my laptop and configured it perfectly .
    also iirc it has predefined configs for hundreds of laptops

    if BSD is dying /dead , then its one hell of a zombie.
    I use three OSs, debian GNU/linux , freeBSD and Mac OS X.. and i think all three are as healthy as ever
    im not sure on the whole of apples market share I think about 5% , but considering that OS X has its roots firmly in BSD from its NeXT heritage not to mention the programs it has from the FreeBSD project, then its safe to say that BSD is more alive than ever .

    I have a G1 ipod that works nearly as well as it did on day one as it does now.
    Conversly my iriver has been repaired 4 times due to failures.
    Also if you wish to see moded firmware , the ipod has its fair share of projects

    I appoligise ,I do remember reading over previous discusions about this and so glanced over the document .

    As i see it gaurentees nothing of this nature , but as i read through it , i fail to see how anz part of the constitution is violated by removing a patent from a company , if this is the will of the people

    The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
    does the constituation also not state somewhere(im not american and have little experiance with he document) that you are entitled to healthcare . if these patents are restricting those rights (by overpricing or by disalowing advancment in treatment) then ,basicaly these companys really need a large gouvernmental slap
