that's really going to get confusing when the year 3000 hits. like, do they go 1000.04, or do they suddenly kick in the millenium number like 999.10 -> 3000.04 Hope they get the patches for dist-update for this out in time
mandrake -> mandriva is trying to come back after years of problems, so maybe this is a little more newsworthy than every point version increment of other distros. Mandrake was good awhile back, then with the problems I've since gone elsewhere (Debian for servers and Ubuntu for my desktop & laptop). Hope they come back to their former glory
that of course was just a juvenile joke. and I really don't like Erlang or my nick would be Erlangcodez. LISP of course is the language that can do anything and everything, but who wants to squint at that offal?
1. most conservative anti-homosexuals congressmen are Republican 2. Republican platform is anti-homosexual 3. Homosexuals are not likely to be Republican congressmen
but now we know old Republican congressmen cruise for cock in the public bathrooms and suck underage congressional pageboy schlong.
you're not really a resident of a fly-over rural state. otherwise you'd know to get up with the rooster, each lunch at "high noon" and go to bed with the sun.
those bullshit $400-500M are only counting costs over the last four years, taking the total cost of the space shuttle program it's over a BILLION DOLLARS per launch.
You've got to be able to manage your risks before they turn into an expensive problem.
that sentence sounds like a load of marketing BS - this will get cracked, probably by subverting microsoft's crapware so the hardware doesn't even think a new app is installing.
insurance not the issue, liability is. anyway, silly of guy to call Dell and ask. You get a lawyer and you sue their incompetent labtop-firebomb building asses.
plenty of languages would be better implemented compiling directly to jvm bytecode, especially the ones with closures and continuations. that's part of the good stuff coming as opposed to the current batch of interpreters implemented in the java language. rewriting parts of the java library will be part of the fun
I'd say the jvm will be more important in the long term than the Java language. No one needs to know you actually have JRuby and Jython in your jars, and there are even more exciting things coming.
thanks a gob. I didn't know what LP was so I looked it up, and saw a single blogger's screencap from that site. Now that scene in PI where the guy took a power drill to his cranium sounds very appealing right now.........
I wasn't saying that vmware needed to be gpl'd, just complaining how vmware belittles Linux because at the time they weren't smart enough to write their own operating system. same as many university / colleges that claim to write "their own operating system" but it has to be run on mach or bsd or unix or whatever.
vmware sales and marketing say "it's just the service console". but the truth is vmware kernel is a process under control of the linux kernel. yes, the virtual machines run under the vmware kernel, but the vmware kernel must use Linux devices and linux virtual memory system for resource usage of the real hardware. in other words, linux is in charge, "just a service console" my ass.
you swallowed the vmware marketing and sale crap hook and sinker. the so-called "vmware kernel" runs as a service under linux, and must use Linux API for dealing with the real machine including memory. Linux is the OS in charge of the machine, the drivers for real devices are linux drivers and vmware uses linux virtual memory for the pool of memory it dishes out to the vm.
and more importantly, what adjective and animal will that release be?

slashdot exists for my amusement, I'm having fun sorry you aren't

agriculture is only 5% of the gross world product, been a minor part for decades.

and his mother shot in the face during the procedure; you just can't be too careful in cases like this
in his state a person doesn't have to show ID, only provide certain information. Some other states, you have 24 hours to produce an ID upon request.

2. Republican platform is anti-homosexual
3. Homosexuals are not likely to be Republican congressmen
