different kinds of projects require different environment. different kinds of people require different environments. different kinds of work require different environments.
And unfortunately offices are associated with status so some people who don't care about quiet are going to require an office if others are getting offices.
Plus offices are more expensive and even cubes cost about $5k the last time I saw costs 5 years ago. Crazy eh? So offices must cost even more to provision at a big company.
My last job, we had "bubblers" and and they really did cut down on background noise a lot. For highly collaborative projects, we went to the collaborative floor and worked in rooms with 30-40 people. Noisy, fast access to every team on the project.
For less collaborative projects, we worked in our own area and had meetings in one of the 8 tiny meeting rooms on the floor or one of the 2 big meeting rooms. The bigger rooms required formall booking while the smaller ones did not.
Our walls were high enough for privacy but didn't go to the cieling.
Working from home was an option but I never really got used to it. I'd do 1 day out of 10 at most.

If everyone interned then it goes to some other relevant expertise (so tune your resume to the job you are applying to).

b) The business sends it to a senior manager who finds a reason to reject everyone and then hire the candidate proposed by the offshore consulting firm. (you can google a secretly filmed seminar from 2007 of a company teaching corporations exactly how to manage the process from advertising in small markets near the target market to get as few candidates as possible, to how to tune the specific requirements for the job, to finally how to boot it upstairs to a senior who can figure out how to safely reject the candidate.

Fundamentally, if this year's demand is for 1734 people with that degree and 5,270 graduate on top of the 27,000 already in the field (of whom 270 are looking for work actively) then about 3,300 of those college graduates are not going to find work in their field (and if it's bad enough- not in any field).
And part of the problem is that tuition is much higher than it was for my generation. It cost me 60 hours minimum wage to pay for an entire semester of classes and books. And since it was so inexpensive, my company reimbursed me without even questioning what I was taking as long as I had good grades and said it applied to my job.
Well... the "wood" floor is probably linoleum. My friends dining room has that. It's pretty cheap and is softer than wood or wood texture tile and is almost as durable (20-30 years- you need to refinish wood more often).
Electrical you got a point- but the cost of that is in the house. A house that size probably has extremely simple wiring. Russian electricians appear to make 1/4 to 1/3 of what U.S. electricians make. I was suprised how low average russian salaries are!
Concrete with a huge dead air space (clearly visible in the photos) is probably a pretty good start. It sounds like it was trivial to fill the voids with sprayin insulation and that's included in the cost.

At the least, it's probably a good option for 4 billion people on the planet so that's a large market.

Really it is as classic as supply and demand.
There has been a fantastic glut of entertainment for close to a decade now. It is no longer possible to keep up with the flood of entertainment.
Likewise, there is a labor glut so generic writers can't make as much money.
Part of this is because costs (including salaries) got too high too.
If writers can't make $60,000 a year- I sympathize with them. I know the successful ones make a lot more.
But too many people want to get into that field- driving down wages.
And avoid exposure of his russian connections.

So if one person was making the entire GDP of the united states, then they would pay 15% of that to cover social security.
I like it- it scales regardless from 1 tax payer to 1% of tax payers to 10% of tax payers and so on.

I am literally getting cable and hbo for $10 a month and I'm the lowest tier internet at 25mb/s now.
I used to pay $140 a month.. and they kept moving the price up. At $190/month I said to heck with that. now I pay $68 a month.
Another factor... my wireless is now down to $65 for 16gb with an 8gb hot spot. Plus ubiquitous free wifi at merchants in my area.
If that goes up to $65 for 32gb and 16gb hot spot, I will consider completely cutting cable.
But I really don't like paying over about 5 hours minimum wage for monthly cable.
At least currently, energy states and organization of energy into matter appear to be discrete rather than analog.

In texas, the cost for 1GB monthly service with unlimited texts is now down to $35 a month. My landline years ago was up to $38 minimum.
Main reason for my voip and google numbers is to call and locate my cell phone.
I use voip (magic jack 2014 actually) and a cell phone. Plus I have a google number.
