It's probably because there are some important factors which many would-be designers are never going to think of, unless they have some military experience.
For example, not many people would consider putting a V hull on a vehicle, but do a little research on the effects of IED's on different vehicles and you'll see this is a critical requirement for current theaters.
Maybe America should be taking itself more seriously? I always laugh at how you Americans dismiss Chinese developments saying they copied you, or Russia. Have you looked at your education system lately? FYI, the rest of the world is amazed you can design a working bicycle, let alone a stealth fighter.
Suspicious timing? I'm not saying it legitimises the action, but perhaps this is the government being proactive towards counter-terrorism in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games?
Yeah, totally agree. This makes me wonder if the Music industry has finally realised we are the ones holding all of the cards, not vice versa.
I also love the other Conan movies, and to a lesser extent the cartoon series.
"Woman: A pittance to protect you from evil?"
"Subotai: I am evil..."
"Conan: You're all whores."
1. Actually a removable battery is very important and you have completely missed the operational reason. Soldiers carry a bunch of equipment which use batteries (NVG's, LRF's, NAD's, Radio's, Illuminated sights, not to mention simple things like torches etc...) and it's important they all (where possible) use the same type of batteries. Simply put, if the battery in my Night Vision Goggles die and I have run out of spares, I want to swap the battery from my phone into my NVG, since it's more critical piece of equipment for my current task.
Soldiers are entirely capable of keeping their kit free of dust & grime (I'm capable of stripping down an m4 to the ejector claw without getting dust through it, why wouldn't I be able to manage a phone?)

Well said.
Way to get yourself on anon's shit list. Not something I'd be eager to do.
Yeah you can hold your own... http://www.geographic.org/country_ranks/educational_score_performance_country_ranks_2009_oecd.html

But I don't want the girl next door to see all my pr0n.
I fail to see a problem. If he can pay it, good. If he can't, at least it sets a good precedent for when a business does get busted spamming.
I always wondered why imdb had such a gawd awful design. I guess that explains it.
Pissing on a bonfire...

Hmmm, maybe in your country mate. Certainly not mine. And if by stop fighting you mean stop pirating music, I wouldn't worry ;)

I can't wait to try and shoot one of these down with my own drone aircraft.
Apart from not using all my memory, what can Chrome do that Firefox can't?
I skimmed over the headlines and misread this as Midgets Infest 77 towns... Imagine my disappointment when I continued on to the article.
That's really cool! Can I come on a fishing trip to your bro's place some time?
Long walk off a short pier.
I would donate more, but the Jews who run the global economy stole all my money in the great GFC of 09.
"we definitely cannot afford it." Oh don't be such a Jew.
Beached as bro!
Strongly agree.
I don't consider the attacks which ended World War 2 a disaster.
Thank you for putting into words exactly how I feel!
Go back to church dickhead.
