    These are a lot of the same people that felt it was better to just ignore Gitmo rather than deal with the prisoners there.

    There's not that much difference between sending a drone in or a fighter jet, or a team of marines - all things congress has been ok with in the past.

    Not just extra servers, but they'd need servers more powerful than a desktop computer for EVERY player connected. It's like buying a server with every copy of the game!

    But the system is for the submitters mom, not for himself. It can be quite difficult to get older people to switch from something they're used to, to something that looks very different and make is harder to play her favorite brand of spider solitaire

    Well they're 256kbps DRM-free these days, so that's pretty close. Not many can tell the difference - most that can are lying.

    But while you've found 4 incidents from the past year, the same could be found after a week of watching Fox. Their real news shows are usually better, but they blur the lines between the news and opinion shows much more than on all the other networks. Just because Fox has an extreme bias to the right doesn't mean there is another network (or everyone else) biased to the left to balance them.

    That's a bit farther in the future, but the FAA report does name a good number of commercial uses.

    A commercial drone carrying cargo across the country isn't compatible with the 4th amendment? This is a much broader issue than simple surveillance drones used by the police.

    For trains it's kind of dumb, but for buses they can use electromagnetic resonance charging, which is much more efficient and transferring power wirelessly and doesn't have to be lined up as well

    That is of course a ridiculous argument. The manufacturing of wind power plant components, the installation of solar grids, the maintenance of all these would easily create more jobs than the 25 guys it takes to run a coal plant. Especially since the coal plants would still be running in the mean time (well actually they'll probably get shut down because the free market favors natural gas at the moment). Expanding infrastructure is similar to expanding our energy infrastructure - they both create jobs in the short term and help us in the long term.

    You don't think a huge investment in green manufacturing jobs would help the economy? Ideally it would be funded in a way that didn't add to the deficit, but even deficit spending would work.

    Even though I'm not jacking in to my VR world, there are still communities I only know online. These are the parts of the Internet that seem more like cyberspace.

    Sites like facebook or other tools to communicate to friends in the real world are separate from all that (even if they do sometimes interact).

    Well I've been getting $20-$40 watches about every 5 years, so I think I'll still come out ahead as long as I don't live more than a couple centuries.

  15. But fortunately there's the loophole that it's only if you knowingly report that you own the copyright someone else has that it counts. Basically any large scale notice system can get around by saying it was just a mistake.

    No, those are the sane parts of his opinions. Unfortunately they go along with his ideas to change our money to shiny rocks, get us out of all trade agreements, shut down the department of education, remove most federal regulations (but not women's rights!), never raise taxes, and of course his questionably racist remarks.

    But not all of America's gun owners will feel the need to participate in a civil war. They also lack the training and leadership of law enforcement and are spread out.

    The star gate handles the transmission and reconstruction of the human atoms within its buffer so people don't spray out. Now exiting the worm hole without the star gate is a bad idea (unless you're just sending some sort of raw material).

    Switzerland also has very strict gun laws that restrict people from carrying guns around and all males go through basic military training.

    The problem isn't with responsible gun owners that take the training seriously and don't end up murdering people, it's the ones that go on rampages or think they need to defend their property from the kid getting his ball or hunt down the minorities in the neighborhood.

    You might also note that mass murders happen more often in areas where there are lots of people, Alaska doesn't quite fit that criteria.
