Copy the link and paste it in your browser - it seems that Snopes doesn't like hotlinking their images.
The legal proof is in that image there. Why should anything more be needed?
The creator's website actually lists someone from MS Research as one of his advisors for the project. It's possible the Kinect and this have the same roots.
I think the biggest complaint about UAC wasn't that it was implemented, but how it was implemented. The excessive prompting was obnoxious and trained people to just click allow every time. I know one time I attempted to create a new folder in the program files directory and received FOUR prompts (create the folder, set the name to "new folder", modify the folder, set the name to what I wanted). The entire action (which was initiated by me) only needed one prompt.
It's to prevent people killing off artists in order to get their material free of copyright. Why wait 10 years when you can make a quick call to the neighborhood hit-man and get it now!
Whenever I see stories about new suspensions, I think of the skateboard in Snow Crash. It made the ride smooth by looking ahead to predict how the suspension should be rather than a reactive solution. That would make the smoothest ride though would be difficult to implement.
It's a little misleading to say that one on average is lost every hour. Realistically, most of them are lost during large storms where several fall off the ship. It's not like the ship just shows up and the stringy guy's container is missing.
But no one uses Second Life, while 10 Billion people use Facebook (might be less).
What they really need to do is just automated the process so it automatically sends facebook messages to setup dates when it finds potential matches and then photoshops pictures of the people together to put on their walls
They also bought up Entropic..then sort of open sourced it, then abandoned it.
Nuance has bought up most of the speech recognition companies and they have a fairly strong product, but there just haven't been any big leaps in the field since HMM's were first used.
Exactly. If someone's house in on fire, they're going to sound a lot more stressed than my calling it in as I'm driving through the neighborhood . Same emergency though.
My bank used to have these little stickers you could put on your phone that works the same as the credit card. Had it under my iPod's silicone case for a while until the bank "upgraded" me.
If the flag (not created by the MPAA) is under copyright, then surely the key (created by the MPAA) it was derived from would also be under copyright and all references of it should be removed from the article.
However, only the flag is being marked as a copyright violation.
Much worse was in Bones when Dr. Brennan was driving her Prius and it makes some noise, which Booth questions to receive an explanation of some Prius feature.
At least with the Win7 phone, it was just extending a scene to receive a text message - with the car it was a whole part of a scene that just shouted product advertisement.
But then you have to hold onto as much random data as your real data so there's no benefit to storing it remotely.

Then at least when the nuclear servers meltdown, it won't be onto the units below.

If no one's paying off the debt, the interest will keep going up and the deficit will rise.
I get the feeling the control group will notice that their units don't work when the experimenters ask them to play while walking.
Up until a few months ago support was even worse. We've only recently gotten support for many useful CSS3 elements.

Have you seen Windows 7? They made significant changes to make it more tablet friendly.

In one situation only the supporters get the money.
This story would be a lot more interesting with a link to an article where we could see some of these things.

However the key in question allows you to decrypt HD DVDs...if you can find any that is.
Were you using Opera Mini on the iPhone? The article is talking about Opera Desktop on a mac computer where /. looks normal.
But if time were a factor, it would be wise to do the copy first, or at the same time as the checksum to avoid losing data.
Assuming you have a much faster drive (or lots of memory) to write to, wouldn't it be the same amount of time to do a checksum as to copy the drive?

If we can only cut down 2% of our energy we might as well just not do it? 2% works out to about 75 TW/year.
The good news is we can have policies for more than one thing. This is just getting one of the low hanging fruits.
