I've had an 18W CFL in my reading light by my bed for several years now. It's a bit bright so I have it aimed at the wall so I just get the reflective light from that. It's just as good as an incandescent except that I haven't needed to replace it yet.
Personally I think it's a great idea to have separate wikis for subjects - it keeps wikipedia tidy and puts the control of the subject in the hands of people interested in it.
However, there is a stupid Wikipedia rule against linking to these specialized wikis, so even if it is a great source of more information for someone researching a subject, it is not allowed to put it in the external links section.
But the way Opera compresses stuff is to compress images and reduce the markup to fit in the mobile browser, so it really needs to see the information.
I wonder how fast this is at realigning the laser to aim at the elevator. You wouldn't want a gust of wind to push it a few feet to the side and have the laser give the helicopter cancer.
Apart from the fact I've never taken a bite into a sticker, I've also never taken a bit out of the skin of a citrus fruit (like the one in the picture) so I don't think this is really going to be a big improvement in that department.
Some of our roads have those in the middle. They painted down the hashes on the high way, then decided they should be a couple feet over so they scraped up the first lines and painted new ones. Meaning now if you're driving directly on the old ones (i.e. centered in your lane) then you get this nice sensation of your car rumbling apart.
Have you ever tried keeping a cat on a leash? We used to try to keep our cat on a leash outside (she had this harness thing you had to strap on to her). Well she'd sit out there nicely once you put her on it, but as soon as she got bored, she'd slip out of it and go where she pleased
One time she was there on her leash and a dog chased after her. She managed to jump through the deck railing and get out of this harness midair before running across the yard and up a tree.
These days we just let her wander around the yard/woods. She knows to stay away from the road and we always get her in before dark.
What most people missed (I only saw it because I was projecting it) was an extra scene at the end of the credits showing the wreckage of the plane being looked over by the North Koreans. Then they scan over the damaged AI unit of the plane (the crystally thing) which suddenly starts to glow again. Sequel anyone?
The biggest problem with that plane though seemed to be that it thought it was much better than the people commanding it. Which was probably true in that case.
We couldn't have asked for a better message and we didn't plan it
That's funny, since one of the guys who was working on it was just on NPR talking about how all these other historical firsts had meaningful or interesting messages, while this one was boring.
Well if we're going down that path, then don't forget to mention all that other crapware in windows like calculator and notepad!
The only legit 'crapware' I've seen on macs is the iLife trial. Fortunately it's a lot easier to remove (even multiple apps at once!) by just dragging it to the trash. No need to go through a list of uninstallers.
I'd say it's fighting when I want to create a folder in the program files directory and I get 4 notifications. Do you really want to create a folder? Do you want to let "system folder creator" run? Do you really want to rename a folder? Do you want to let "system folder renamer" run?
Yeah! Everyone knows the current version is "Are you doing math in Excel?"

From what I remember, only http goes through the proxy, https obviously wouldn't be able to be compressed since they can't read it.
So since January 1st, 1970?
They have a monopoly on Apple devices. Think it's a coincidence that no one else creates anything by Apple?
I would hope that funding for scientific progress wouldn't be canceled just so we can get a bigger discount on our gas bill.

Then people get agitated because they can't go fast enough. That causes more road rage and more accidents.
I take it you've never driven stick then? (Need one hand to shift, often for several seconds)
Or had to pay tolls? (Roll up the window after paying)

Just make sure to get the cats in by dusk before the coyotes come out. That's where a GPS on a cat comes in handy.

And in the case that a fleet of robots attack, even if they hack into one system, they won't be able to take over the ship through the network!
Yeah that was a pretty horrible movie.

It's worth mentioning that Skype is even included in the Ubuntu netbook remix, so you're basically stuck with it no matter what path you go.
Not that it's a bad program, it's actually pretty cool if you look at how it works in the background.

I'm with you there- I've had one in my desk lamp for several years now and it's still going fine.
Why? Because that suggests it's from the US? Or that it's aimed at people in the US?
I'd say it's fighting when I want to create a folder in the program files directory and I get 4 notifications.

Something like that - basically ridiculous.
Ah so you're the one!
You mean the big bubbly XP Start button and the safe rounded edges? Or the simple interface from Win95?
