By storing data in 3D throughout the depth of the recording media, not just on the surface, Tapestry holographic technology breaks through teh[sic] historical limitations of data storage.
While its unfortunate that he whipped out the "audiophile" term, claiming that Grados/Sennheisers/etc are akin to 'oxygen-free nanomolecular cables and impedance matched anisotropic speaker stands' is ridiculousness.
Yes, "audiophiles" do a lot of crazy stuff, but go compare a set of $100 grado sr-60s to your cheap sonys. If you can't tell a HUGE difference, then I'd say you've done some pretty serious damage to either your ears or the relatively important organ between them.
The Olympics aren't just about physical strength. It has a lot to do with skill as well. Don't even pretend that you could do any of the equestrian events anywhere near the Olympic level. I'd also like to note that archery, table tennis, sailing and curling are current Olympic sports. Dressage/Show Jumping require as much athleticism as these.
I thought having seizures prevented one from getting/keeping a license. The guy I knew who had them wasn't allowed to get his license until he had been seizure free for a year. Certainly sounds like he shouldn't have been driving.
I dislike Dell, and when people ask me why I say, "I find their tier two and three support to be unbearable, and I hate their proprietary hardware, and their tendency to skimp on things like montherboards." It makes people's eyes glaze over, and in their minds, they file it away under "Nerd crap that doesn't apply to me."
Then let me help. Try this: "I find their phone support to be unbearable, and the parts are cheaply made." That has a lot more real-life solidity to it.
I agree completely, but look at the moderation. This won't ever stop until the overloards/chairthrowing/enough for anyone/profit/etc jokes stop being a surefire way to get modded up.
the most important missing piece is a way to acquire software that's as easy as going to Target.
Ok (assuming ubuntu feisty), click the launcher, go to system, add/remove.
There? Now type what you want in the search bar and pick the app you want by description or rating as seen below:
Overuse of many illicit drugs can lead to long lasting personality changes (effectively a drug induced mental disorder) - and how do you propose that society handle that?
If they do something illegal, nail them for it. If they don't, then it's all good.
You're also completely ignoring the problems with addiction.
Which current drug laws prevent how exactly? By locking people up in jail? I'm sure there aren't any drugs/drug users in there...
I agree with the original argument that consenting adults should be able to do to themselves as they wish, but that they are completely responsible for the consequences. "I was drunk/high/etc" is never an excuse that I would accept. It's absolutely meaningless. Also, many do things while on drugs because they know that for many that excuse will work. And if they actually can't control themselves, then its their fault for taking drugs they can't handle anyway.
Indeed. I always wanted to call them up and cancel the touch-tone portion of my service.
:P
Then I just switched to VOIP instead
Personally I prefer to take a 10 minute lunch, then go home an hour earlier.
User inputs picture of boats in a bay.
computer: What is this a picture of?
User: rabid chinchillas and celebrity porn
hilarity ensues
Military indeed. I can think of few things more frightening than a motion tracking quadrupedal robot running across a river at you, guns blazing.

You'd think they'd proofread it.
35 year old: I'm 21

All lions are cats.
Therefore all cats are lions.
QED
Google does fail though. I have gotten error messages when trying to load google.com and the search results. Only twice mind you, but still.

In short, security by obscurity.
A bit harsh, but COME ON. It was right on the mark.
Primus Talkbroadband in Ontario on Bell DSL. No problems w/ lag. Great quality. Only issues are w/ other network traffic as I'm not using QOS atm.

Hell, I call Egypt for 10c a minute. (voip)
Vista? Talk about offtopic.
I assume you mean the summary omitted it, as they definitely do exist

Yeah I noticed too, but let it go. Its probably the piece of hardware that accelerates software based calenders.

They probably meant all possible functions. Not the impossible ones, those are pretty tricky.
