So I'm like an encylopedia of D&D. So he handed over the reins to me. A bit prematurly I'd say, but patience is not his srtong point. I'm getting the hang of it, I got a 10lv module for us to play from. This is the thing that makes me most angry when people talk about Eva, they always bring up this made up gay bullshit between Kaowaru and Shinji.

First, Kaowaru was an angel. And as such was neither man nor woman, but both. The tension you may feel in the bath scene is just pure honesty and love from Kaowaru, it had absolutly nothing to do with sex (sleep together not sex, its different). It wanted to understand the human condition, so it could make the choice of self sacrifice. It was created to love. Kaowaru is the angel of love. And Rei turned into Kaowaru cause Shinji freaked out. Then she saw in his heart that he was not gay, and reverted back.

Asuka was not dying when Shinji was in her hospital room. She was completely aware of his presence. Whatch her heart monitor, notice how it starts going up when Shinji starts puddin off? That's also why she said, "I know all about your little jerk off fantisies about me. Go ahead and do it. I'll even whatch this time." Because she was pretending to be asleep. That is the purpose off that scene. Done.

It amazes me what PBS can get away with. When I was 15 (15 years ago) I was flipping through the channels and I saw Susan Sarandon's face on the PBS channel, and I was like "dammit janet" what are you doing on PBS. So I decided to watch what was on. I was even more suprised to see a young Brooke Shields too. I was like, maybe this'll be an interesting movie. Then they bring out a naked 12 year old Brooke Shields on a platter (literally) and sold her to some dirty old man for the night. I was like, Oh My God! How can they show this on TV! It's considered art I guess. I beleive the movie was called "Baby". So, seeing moving drawings of a 14 year olds nipples doesn't bother me much after that.

  12. Re:Understanding Evangelion on Cartoon Network Acquires Neon Genesis Evangelon · · Score: 1, Interesting
Yes, exactly! It is a love story between Shinji and Asuka. I didn't realize that the first couple times I watched it, cause it had been years since I had a girlfriend. Then I went out with a girl who was a lot younger than me (i was 28, she 18, still in HS no less). After we stopped seeing eachother, I was bored and decided to watch End of Evangelion again, and, sure-as-shit, the light went off in my head. It's a love story (She acted just like Auska too, freaked me out, the whole "if I can't have all of you, then I don't want anything to do with you" "go ahead and do it like you always do, I'll even watch" That scene).

On a side note, I even know what it feels like to be Misato. I had a 17 year old female friend of mine living with me for awhile(couple months) because her mom was a mental case. I just had to show her Ep.2 "the Beast", there were so many parallels between our living arrangment and Shinji/Misato's, it was crazy. I even paused this scene were it just shows Shinji's backpack on the floor in front of the TV. Then I was like look, your backpack is sitting in front of my TV too, in almost the exact same position! Whew, creepy! She even paused in front of my door and was like "I don't wanna impose". I just had to bust out with the, "Ashley, this is your home now." She stepped through the door, and I said "Welcome home!" Cool shit man! I never gave her an "adult kiss" though, that's where the parallels stopped.

Being a 30 year old bachlor living with a hot 17 year old girl is no kinda fun let me tell you. Teen girls are insane! Stress, Drama, PMS...AHHHHHH. Stay away from them. However, women in their 40's make great lovers (her mental mom for instance).

My god, I can't believe I'm about to post this story. Oh well.

Nobody probably remembers the arcade pods Virtuality put out in 1994. Well, I got to work on a desktop version of those pods, called "Elysium".

It was an IBM 486 DX100 w/16 megs of RAM. But what made it an Elysium, were the 2 graphics cards (2 motorola 601e processors on each card w/8 megs of tex ram on each card too), the HMD, and the 2/6DOF magnetic tracking devices from polhemus (i.e. Fastrack) one on the HMD the other on the "pointing device", a handheld input device with 4 grip sensors that would read in pressure from finger grips in values of 1-255. You could use it to simulate a hand opening or closing.

And now my point...The school I attended/worked at used to give tours and show off this new VR tech by showing them the Elysium. Remeber the stock city model that came with 3DS Studio for DOS? My buddy put that in VR and we would show that to the "tourists". It didn't happen often put I distictly remember a few of the people getting Vertigo when they "flew" to one of the top of the buildings and looked down. They would fall right on their asses in the middle of the room, while wearing the HMD. VR is kinda dangerous in that respect.

I always thought that was the most interesting part of donning an HMD, the disorientation you felt after wearing it made it intimidating for the average Joe. And it came with warnings telling you to not wear it for more than 15 mins at a time. I took me a few hours of use, to get over the initial disorientation an HMD causes to your senses.

That is what killed VR. HMD technology is not for average computer users. Plus you can get epileptic seizures. It's the same thing that killed the Captin Power TV show.

The rest is so much mud slinging to make american solders look bad. These poor kids were just trying to protect themselves. Car bombs are REALLY popular in that part of the world you know.

The Italians are the ones who fucked up thinking they could play "cowboy", and run into a war zone and sneak somebody out, like something out of a Bruckhiemer movie. Only Americans should be playing "cowboy", and possibly Australians.
