    very true, if Apple started selling thier OS to the OEMs and offering retail sales for generic x86 PCs i would buy one just because it is not Windows, and and dual boot with Linux, currently i am with FreeBSD and Slackware :)

    Yahoo Chat is full of pornbots with profiles containing links with a URL something like blogs.blogopt (a play on blogspot?) and they number in the thousands and constant spam the chatrooms...

    plus the trolls and social mis-fits with no life with nothing to do but fight & argue, i abandoned Yahoo completely earler this year because of the sorry state of chat and email with poor spam filters...

    yhoo is losing stock value big time too, i expect yahoo to be either bought or up for sale or auction soon...

    my live is swamped with advertising, on television, radio, roadside bill boards, on the sides of buildings, in the various stores i shop at, etc...

    with the above paragraph so plainly true dont you think it would be natural for users with the knowledge to set up their web browsers to block as much advertising and web bugs as possible? (i think so and i did so)...

    it all points back to Microsoft Windows, since the MS-EULA only gives the end user the right to use the software and not own it then Microsoft is responsible for the vulnerabilities in thier products...

    i have to agree, i miss the old KDE-2.2 && Gnome-1.4 and Win95 GUI for its simplicity, nowdays both Windows & Linux are suffering from the bloat of feature creap, but i doubt we will be heard, lets hope xfce stays simple, there is always EDE or ICEwm, then there are lots of light and simple window managers & file managers for Linux, good thing linux offers a choice and the Windows users wont get...

    if a Pirate broadcaster is smart enough to build his own radio with the intention of targeting off the shelf radio recievers that consumers buy then i think they would be smart enough to select the correct frequency to broadcast on, that lamer excuse of interfearing with emergency radio transmissions is no good...

    take a look at Firefox' or Mozilla's or Seamonkey's Bookmarks in a plain text editor, it keeps dates about visiting web sites that could be used to track users (that is) if website's servers can access it to look at it. seens like such an unnecessary feature, if i can find a way to shut off the record keeping within bookmarks i would re-write my bookmarks to keep only the name and URL...

    it probably happens more often then what is reported, websites and their databases get compramized often and users info gets ripped is what you hear about - the method used to gain access is not reported (could be innocent looking PDF files opening the holes...
