    DRM is just another virus infesting your computer. Vista is nothing but one big virus. This is M$ example of "nothing new invented here" but "we are going to squeeze more cash out of your wallet!".

    I have had this "retargeting" happen to me and was annoyed. I could not get enough info rom other vendors becuase so many links retargeting a single vendor kept showing up in searches. This concept is bad for the consumer and I tend to not buy from companies that do this becuase I find this practice a deception.

    Ditto. VIM,EMACS are good 'editors' but do not provide project level managment like SlickEdit can. Let's see you compile, debug, and find a variable or constant definition, let alone walk an object up or down in those editiors.

    I have found that the "white coats" usually lack the vision to see the forest for the trees in matters such as this. I have a case where two guys with no formal education beyond high school has proven two PHD teams with mounds of reports were totally wrong! This proof came buy doing what was reported as not feasable.

    Some of us really have a life and not the time to watch most of the crap the is put out as "movies". Netflix would be a waste of money becuase, when I really want to watch something I rent it for 99 cents or $1.99 at my local grocery store. Netflix is only good for couch potatoes who have no life.

    There is no motivation to attack Macs. The motivation here is money. The bottom line. Am I going to write a worm that attacks less than 4% or 80% of the machines? I would definitly go after the larger number because that increases my odds of a return.

    You security people are still too arrogant and anal to realize that it isn't about prestige or notariety. It is about money.

    Sure, I can stick a CD in and boot a totally secure OS. It is also secure from easy to use, cheap software. I cannot load free or under $30 software in a few seconds and be up and running. How about the, under $100, full featured video editing software, and, every codec in the world that installs with no user intervenction in 10 seconds. Oh, and how about the $39 parenetal control software that monitors my kids' computers and reports their access to me that I set up in about 4 minutes. Let's talk about games. Oh, I forgot, those platforms don't have many like BF2, HL2, Guild Wars, etc...

    Since about 1 out of 90 people I know even have HD TV, Blue-ray and HD-DVD are somewhat irrelevant technologies. Hell, I don't even have an HD TV but I do have some killer computer displays. I probably won't buy any of this until I have no choice.

    At lease they (engineers and techs) are thinking ahead this time. They need to head this one off at the pass. All of this new technology is great but it is also a means for the wicked to exercise thier craft. I solved the spam problem a long time ago. It's called 'delete'. If they use voice mail, then a text message with then name or number of the caller needs to be read so you can use 'delete'. Better yet, you need an option: if no caller ID - no voice mail allowed.

    I will not - click through almost thirty pages to view the details of an appliance box. A computer is like a toaster. It is an appliance. It should be hidden from view to make the room look better.

    The company is owned and run in China. While I cannot control where American, Japanese, or Korean countries subcontract, I can choose who I deal with. I will not buy from any Chinese company if there is an alternative. I do not trust them, nor do I want to finance any country that does not fully support freedoms like free speach. I do support the people when I can but will not support the government.

    I don't find any need for vista. I don't need all that fancy windows and flying glass to edit video. XP works just fine. Besides, most computers are appliances. How many people waste their time with a $600 toaster when a $16 one works fine.

    Since I have not seen anything new in the gaming world in 10 years or more, it's no wonder. All games are the same old RPG, FPS, or racing. No real innovation has existed. Just different looks, different quality. I'ts no wonder that the whole game industry is burning out.

    Apple's introduction of boot camp is just one step closer to phasing out OS X. The business model they are becoming is a hardware/media company. An operating system that has a limited set of applications that are grossly overpriced is not in that model. 18-20 months from now OS-X will be EOL.
