This is the post I was looking for. It answers the question and proves the point, "If you are familiar with something then it is what you should use".
I run Debian on my servers. I run Gentoo on my laptop. I've become familiar enough with Gentoo that maintaining it on a server would not be that difficult for me. In fact, I've started to use Gentoo on all of my VM's. ie. I use Debian as the base and Gentoo on the VM's (LVM).

But it is also a highly fragmented industry with few common standards or platforms. Projects are complex, progress is slow, and practical applications are relatively rare.
OK. It is like computers until the PC x86 arch was released. Wouldn't it be better to ask people that worked at IBM or Intel about what worked?
Microsoft has the best virtual machine with.NET, the best development tool with Visual Studio and the best access to developers with their MSDN programs.
1) The best virtual machine runs on my platform and preferably others..NET only runs on Windows. Therefore,.NET could not be the best virtual machine for any platform other than Windows.
2) The best development tool runs on my platform and allows me to write applications that run on my platform an preferably others. Visual Studio does not run on anything other than Windows and makes it difficult to write application that will run on any platform other than Windows. Therefore, Visual Studio could not be the best development tool.
3) The developers I look for write software for my platform and preferably others. The majority of developers available through MSDN are focused on developing Windows software using Windows development tools. Therefore, MSDN is not the best way to access developers.
If IBM didn't have to spend millions defending itself, it could go spend that money on hurrying up 65 nm production of the Cell processor, or building a bigger super-computer, or making improvements to AIX or Linux.
This makes me wonder if IBM might be able to go after Microsoft for initiating this whole mess. If IBM's lawyers have any skill at all, they could prove the connection.
I think you meant to say: "Every once in a while Micro$oft copies someone else's idea and tries to get all the credit". This plagiarism seems to be the only form of R/D M$ does - and it makes me sick!
I'm looking for the word Google. Was it mis-spelled?
That is a good idea. If the mail was delivered to a specific email account you could use a procmail recipe to add them to a list as they come in. I think you would have to put together a perl script that parses the Received headers, checks to see if the email address is legit (a simple function to telnet, ehlo, and "mail to" could do it). Like you say though. Forged headers would be a problem. It might be more practicle to parse out the Received headers (like above), grep the envelopes using an IPS (would have to be something inline), then compare them. You would have less resources being consumed by the email server and fewer false positives. Plus, you can investigate the envelope. ie. see if it is being spewed by a worm, virus, script by checking white space, NOOPS, and other common falsehoods.
It sounds like your not using any other UCE protection. "hello" checks and rbl's are absolutes then use header checks to really lock it down. After you have all three of those in place then educate spamd with a shared spam email box or a trap email address. Another thing you can do is submit the ip's of spam email to ORDB http://www.ordb.org/submit/
I've seen more than a 300% increase in spam being blocked during the month of October. I've seen at most a 1% increase making it through; but, I attribute that to not being able to block all outdated Outlook Express clients. That isn't a shot. Too many disto's don't have Thunderbird 1.5.07 out yet so Linux users with Thunderbird are messing me up too.
This really hurts Sun, because Solaris is the traditional Oracle platform of choice. Now Linux will be the platform of choice for Oracle. If Oracle makes clustering and failover really easy (as an added value over a simple RH respin), then Sun will take a real beating beause you would be able to replace that good-ol'-solid-and-reliable Sparc monster with a cluster of cheap pre-configured Oracle Linux boxes (instead of buying the next generation of Sun).
This begs the question, "Why didn't Oracle choose to develop an Oracle centric distribution of Open Solaris"?
um. From his own source. "BookLink Technologies pioneered this interface design in its InternetWorks browser in 1994."
The Microsoft-sanitised version of events by Schmalensee omits that in the Fall of 1994, Microsoft had tried to license Navigator. The first public revelation of this was on 27 September 1995 in a Dow Jones story. It was for this reason that Microsoft turned to Spyglass. Although Schmalensee seemed unaware of it, the Spyglass negotiation was signed on 13 January 1995, after Microsoft had previously turned down Spyglass on the ground that it was going to build its own browser. Microsoft had tried to go around Spyglass, holder of the master licence from the National Center for Supercomputing at the University of Illinois, and deal directly with NCSC. It wasn't necessary, because Microsoft out-negotiated Spyglass completely, and got away with a deal that soon left Spyglass struggling. The deal was for the Mosaic browser, which Microsoft would call Internet Explorer.
1) I don't see Oracle as having better/more Linux knowledge than those at RedHat so sell this as "Oracle to compete....Linux Support"? Would you pay an OS vendor for Oracle support?
2) If I use a database on Linux it is MySQL. I use Oracle on Solaris exclusively. I know it is a technical fallacy but I have to say it, "they go together".
3) If companies have to tweak the OS for their software to run then I tend to shy away from the software.
I may also decide to hire them full time. I don't really see anything wrong with this... (snip)
US law prohibits RAC from any claims to the new contract unless they can claim the person is an employee. If they present the company as the employer then they have entered a contractual agreement and are required to give that employee all mandatory stipulations required by law. ie. They must pay for; medical, life, employment insurance, income taxes, sick leave, vacation time...
I've grown tired of the question regarding existing life on mars. Theocratic arguments don't interest me. I want the next missions to focus only on questions regarding the steps needed to terraform and colonize.
I remember Pink Floyd in '77 but The Who was in '76. But again, things were a little foggy and I think I was in Texas for The Who. Is it just me or was there more fog back then?

How ironic. Our Religious wackos used to be democrates.

put them all together and you've got a perfect storm
Anyone that uses the phrase "perfect storm" should not be allowed to make decisions that will effect other peoples lives.
LOL where are my +1 funny mod points when i need them.

It was obviously not working.
Unless there are enough votes to overturn the veto.

President Bush has said recently that terror groups were trying to influence public opinion in the US, describing their efforts as the "war of ideas"
Does this mean Prezdent Bushwaker admits to being a member of a terrorist group?

I personally welcome our AMD/ATI/SGI (AAS?) overlords.
It's pretty obvious that they've been using anamatronic robots for news anchoring for years!
After the Dan Rather animatron went bzzt on the tv you would think so. I thought PBS was going to buy it for salvage but...

IGNORANCE IS MY MIDDLE NAME!
I recommend you throw it away, thereby increasing the average quality of software in the universe.
LOL. You should start a technology version of the darwin award.
