    Actually the iPad mounts a folder for putting files on, this was confirmed in the announcement, and ars talk about it here:

    Thankfully, Apple has addressed this in the iPad-only iPhone OS 3.2. The documentation for the SDK indicates that it uses a "shared folder" that any iPad application can read and write. This shared folder will also mount as a disk whenever an iPad is plugged in to a Mac or PC, allowing easy file transfer.

    That's cool. They can not care what their users think, and not support big popular websites, and they can have all the ideology they want and no users.

    This is a big thing for me. I don't give a damn about their ideology or their patent concerns, if youtube choose h264 then h264 has won this mini format war, and firefox better swallow their pride and licence it.

    If they don't, i'll end up on chrome for windows, and I already use Safari on mac because their mac UI team are atrocious.

    If you want a pirated book it's easy enough to get a hold of, there are ebooks all over torrent sites and usenet. Even private ebook only trackers. And they are more likely to be in plain-text formats or epub making them better than the amazon equivalents.

    Actually usenet is probably the best way to go, and the rates for premium servers are incredibly cheap.

    Here's a bit of a dilemma, they crack down on filesharing, yet run a free usenet server for their customers with alt.binaries included with 5 days retention.

    You are mistaken, you can stream the same audio, synchronised to multiple airports, and you can remote control it using an iPod touch or an iPhone. Moreover you can remote control which aiports are streaming the audio from the remote.

    I like to play games through http://2dfighter.com/default.aspx and this extension let me do so through firefox, now I can't reactivate it at all, and I can't install a new version because it's been removed from the website. Thanks Mozilla, now I have to go back to IE to use 2df.

    He means for other devices to sync with iTunes music libraries, which other devices can do by reading the plaintext iTunes XML database. You are confusing that with Apple's attempts to stop people using software other than iTunes to sync iPods.

    Yes, but you have to remember the IRA as well. Flying from Liverpool or Manchester to Dublin I still have my photograph taken at departure for security reasons.
