Are you looking hard enough for a solution to the problem? I encounter businesses all the time who want their IT firm to work on site. They also have problems trusting anyone with remote access to the data, especially when confidential medical or financial records are involved. There are competent IT support firms that will do on site administration for you. In some cases, they can even be more affordable than the remote support types. You just have to look around! If you're in the Phoenix, Arizona area, my PC Techs is one example. They will provide an expert who will come to your business every time you need, and will work on site as long as you need them: http://www.mypctechs.com/

Who has access to read through your sensitive documents when that time comes? The article shows how easy it us for one cloud provider to uproot the collective data of thousands of companies and move it anywhere they please. Where will they move the data next? There are hundreds if not thousands of more games available for the PS3. You're looking at all of the old PS1 and PS2 games which will run on the PS3. Not to mention the fact that once the PS3 comes out all of these fantastic games will be bargain bin priced. With Xbox 360 'maybe' being able to run some of their very small collection of Xbox 1 games, who cares? The games make the difference and PS3 will continue to slaughter the Xbox for that very reason.

  12. It's exactly the same as email spam on Bluetooth Ads Beamed from Billboards · · Score: 3, Interesting

This is exactly the same idea as email spam, sending off an advertisement to as many people as you can whether they asked for it or not. Forcing the user to have to click 'no' to get rid of it. We shouldn't have to cripple technology (IE turn off features on the phone) just to avoid being bombarded with a commercial for Dominoes Pizza. At least with a normal billboard if I don't want to see the message I can look somewhere else. I wish I lived there with a mobile phone just to be the first one to file a lawsuit against the companies sending out these ads.

  14. Energy costs will fuel this industry on Modded Hybrid Cars Get Up to 250 MPG · · Score: 1

With the cost of oil rising, many Americans recently polled said that the price of gas is already or soon will cause them financial difficulties. I happen to be one of those people who has the unfortunate situation of driving 3000 miles per month to get back and forth from work. Even at 30MPG, that's 100 gallons x $2.50. $250 a month. Recently we were thinking about buying a new car to cut down on our gas bill, and found that there are very few choices when you want to get 45 MPG or better. In fact, there were a total of 3 cars, none of which appealed to us. 30 MPG is about the best you can get for a normal looking car in the $15,000 range. As more and more consumers begin to feel the crunch from rising gas prices, you will see demand skyrocket for vehicles that can go further on less. I expect guys like the one in this article have a great future ahead of them. The idiots who designed the Hummer H2, however, not so good.

  15. Companies lose sales as a result on Pros and Cons of Tech Offshoring? · · Score: 1

As IT manager for a small business, I often have a lot of pre-sales questions about products. 1 out of every 2 times I call out to find product information, I get someone on the other end from India. These people can barely speak english and want to type my name and phone number into a database immediately before I can ask a simple question.

I hang up on them, every time. And as was recently the case with HP, I vow to never purchase products from that company again. Why should I want to support a company if the profits from my sale go to pay people in India? Further, why should I have to endure the same question being asked 5x because they can't understand English when I can pick up the phone and get reliable help somewhere else?

People in the USA who are in the tech industry hate people who are taking our jobs overseas. Since we are the ones who purchase products, having someone from India on the other end of the phone is suicide for these businesses. The money they will lose in sales will not be made up by the money they save on outsourcing.

Now have him screaming over that while in the background you see all of the other networked computers in his entire building catch the same virus from him as the building begins to crack and crumble to the ground. Have him still screaming while the entire building breaks up and falls to the ground, him included. Flash forward to the guy in a full body cast in the hospital, 1 leg up, where he says: "My company would still exist today if I had only used Firefox."
