I mean, the NSA is monitoring all communications, right? So it was only a matter of time before they found him out anyway. At least this way, there is some publicity, and people know "his side" of the story before he is disappeared to some mysterious American prison.
It's a shame that we are so willing to admit that is his fate, but I really so no other outcome.
What is your opinion on the music industry - that is, do you like the direction it's gone in (some would say downloads were inevitable), or would you rather see it evolve into something different than what we currently have?
Human beings have a right to uninhibited communication with themselves, other humans, and even non-humans. This is somewhat covered by the United States First Amendment to the Constitution, but it's not explicitly stated, which leaves grey areas.
You would think that we wouldn't need to "cover our asses" as a country, but look at what happened with slavery. It was never explicitly stated that slavery cannot happen (even though it interfered with the lives of countless others), until the 13th amendment.
But couldn't this be a terrible thing?
And it was effective even when people didn't know they were learning.
Translation: It will eventually fall into the hands of someone not-so-nice (politician, corporation, etc.), and suddenly we will "learn" that they are good, or we should buy their product, or elect them to be our leader, etc.
CmdrTaco: Secretly Steve Jobs.
Thank you and all the other editors & readers that make this amazing site possible. This is going to sound harsh but hopefully you won't be missed - I feel that if the other editors aim to do their jobs at the bar you set, Slashdot will move above and even beyond what it is already. Thank you once again!
Wikileaks just waits for others to the gathering, they just do the publishing
Don't forget the taking-all-the-credit part, that takes effort.
If contributors do not want Wikileaks to release their documents and take credit for it, then they should not be going to Wikileaks in the first place.
I have only recently begun using OpenOffice.org again and I can't fathom why I ever left it. I enjoy using it a lot more than it's competitors. I wish the project good luck, wherever it may go.
including school work, home work, being around other sick children, etc. My question is why does this "problem" go largely unnoticed in US schools? I know personally once I was in high school, our network was wireless. Not only that, but my younger brother was in middle school ("jr. high") when they went wireless, meaning he's had at least 6 years exposed to wireless signals in school.
And that's not even counting our home network which has been wireless for as long as wireless cards have been around.
My verdict: LOL canada
I think it's also important to note that this means you are inadvertently eating someone else's pee.
Make it draw less power!

to say, damn you Mark Shuttleworth, now we have to worry about actual code related bugs.
I think it would be a much cooler event if the Russian meteor this morning WAS related.
More like Mega... Conz.
If and when we colonize the moon, will you fight for Ubuntu to be the OS-of-choice?
I think that takes the cake for "jokes I've seen on Slashdot stories" this year.
Apple will just throw more money at it.
Insert witty Slashdot approved comment about how this was the subject of a movie (which I never saw).

Isn't this incentive to work on fusion reactors with more fury? Am I wrong in saying H + H => He?
The debate on evolution is evolving. *snickers*
Internets. Serious business.

How long until this is swept under the rug and American Idol is the headline news again?
If 9/11 was my generation's Pearl Harbor, and Afghanistan/Iraq are our Vietnam, then what is this equatable to?

In general I feel like more things should be crowd-sourced. There is a lot of power in making things fun.

You should at least give them the chance to speak. Williams is basically a giant troll.
Woohoo, another Microsoft product I won't use, in exchange for something free.
