How about this as a middle ground: Have a check-box on the browser toolbar, call it "Emulate IE", and when it's checked, it looks just like IE would render it. Then the browser can also render "correctly", but when I go to a site that was coded for IE specific extensions, it renders it that way. That would be ideal for me.
There is a browser, iCab, that has this feature, though it is a check box in the prefrences. Unfortunately for you it is only a mac program and no windows version is planned.
Apple and Sherlock has done with the web what should be done for all applications: used http to send data but created a decent UI for online applications.
You really can't give Apple credit for this innovation. Sherlock is cool but it is really only copy of Watson.
How can a songwriter make sure that he's writing his own songs and not unconsciously plagiarizing somebody else's
How often do you think a bar band would be sued? A. As a bar band not many people will hear their music. B. The average bar band has a little less money than George Harrison.
we spruced up the code so every once in awhile when the user least expected it, an ANSI animation of the Energizer Bunny [energizer.com] would come marching across the screen
This reminds me of NetBunny an old Mac system extension that if installed on a group of macs on a LAN would send the bunny marching across the LAN moving from screen to screen.
Or even better, if someone released Bt8x8 drivers for OS X - Then you'd be able to use one of the many PCI tuner cards which give FAR better performance at a lower price. xtv is the project you are looking for.
Since I don't hear or say "Ogg" much I will take your word for it that it is easier to say and sounds better in conversation but I have always thought that while "MP3" has that nice "computery/techincal" sound to it "Ogg" sounds like something you would say after stubbing your toe.
I've turned heel! How did you manage the heel turn on slashdot? Did you go for the cheap heat and start bad mouthing Linux or attack Linus from behind? Maybe you joined one of the major heel stables like the RIAA or the MPAA. I know, you must have started sucking up to Microsoft and accepted Bill Gates as your personal hero.:)
drivers exhibit sportsmanship that is unparalleled in sports

You mean like Tony Stewart
Babies.. before we're done here.. y'all are gonna be wearing gold-plated diapers.

I mean, a Johnny Cash cover of Nine Inch Nails? Sorry, but Hurt is NOT country music
You are right Hurt is not really country music, but Cash's cover is pretty good and the video quite powerful.
You think a dollar a song is fair. one dollar for 3.5 minutes of enjoyment, that's about 17$ an hour, ummm...no thanks
Your reasoning only makes sense if you only plan on listening to the song once.

What do you recommend for those people who aren't 21 yet?
A fake id.
And how much do those live bands have to pay their songwriters?
A lot of them write their own music.
The Macintosh Classic also had this feature. To boot up using the os burned into the rom you held command-option-x-o at startup.
Can you do multimonitor with multiple graphics cards on Macs?
Yes you can. Apple finally got around to adding this feature to the mac os around 1987.
Is there any emulator that can run OSX? Anything?
The only thing I know of is MOL. Mac On Linux is actually not an emulator but a Virtual Machine like VMWare.
This might be what you are looking for.
I haven't ordered this kit(I don't have an hp printer) but I have used this site a couple of times to fix some Apple printers.
You've obviously never had a Powerbook with a Lithium battery
or a Dell
Is Rich Garces really THAT famous?
I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad there is at least one other Sox fan on slashdot.
How many FPS do you get playing Duke Nukem Forever?
We had stayed up all night talking politics and philosophy, and had gone out onto the balcony so I could smoke.
:)
Smoke what?

Is there any insurance that we can get on this cases (like accident insurance or similar) that would save our asses on this kind of misfortune
I think this is what that damn duck sells.

Historical Footnote #1: There are no Indian Reservations on the East Coast of USA
This is just not true. There are three or four in the state of Mainewhich last time I looked is on the east coast.
There are plenty of examples of the screwing of the American Indians, you don't have make any more up.

I noticed that your comment was reposted here by user JPawloski. Are you user JPawloski or did someone copy your comment?
I just noticed you comment is exactly the same as another posted 18 minutes earlier by user Xtifr. Are you the same person?
I've turned heel! :)
