I miss Mulder. I miss Scully. I missed the last freakin episode. It was just so hard to stay till the end with that Terminator guy and the Baby and agent Reyes.
Scully and Reyes Sex scene now we are talking Box Office Gold.
This article is overblown to say the least. Linus' actual arguements in this area are, as always, well thought out, and pragmatic.
His basic argument hinges on the FACT that it is his choice to continue to use GPL v2. Saying otherwise that he "should" use GPL3 in the name of "freedom" is hypocritical. Agreed.
I personally choose GPLv3 for my future code but I am "free" to "chose" what I believe to be the best license, and so is He.
Worst I can say about Linus remarks are. Maybe words like "Hypocritical Morons" are unhelpful. But again it is clearly an opinion (He did state it as a fact).
Far worse is the Slashdot headline stating "Linux creator calls GPL Authors Hypocrites" Completely untrue.
Resident Evil 4 Wii edition includes Wii Remote compatibility for numerous gameplay features such as aiming and shooting, reloading and a "search knife" function that aims the knife at the nearest enemy. Players can switch between the Wii Remote, Gamecube Controller and the Classic Controller at any time, depending on their preferred style of play.
The laser sight on guns is replaced with a circle reticule that flashes red (enemy) and green (no target) when a gun is drawn. The reticule is always presented on the screen, remaining a faint grey color that keeps track of the player's area of aim. This allows the player to aim and draw the gun, retaining the original aim (except while using a scoped weapon, such as the rifle or rocket launcher).......The Wii edition also includes the extra content from the PlayStation 2 and PC versions. The Amateur and Easy difficulty included in the Japanese Gamecube version of the game are present. It was released in North America on June 19, 2007, and in Europe on June 29, 2007. This version also includes a trailer for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.[22] In addition, the Wii edition supports 480p and 16x9 widescreen, as opposed to the 480p and 4:3 letterbox format of the GCN version. The game also maintains a consistent 30FPS, as opposed to past versions which had occurrences of slowdown in hectic moments.
Wait a minute, you're not saying that the selection of PS2's Players Choice games isn't that great are you? I don't have the entire list in front of me, but I have at least a dozen of these releases at home including (IIRC): Ico, Star Wars Battlefront (I and II), SOCOM, God of War and the GTA series.
No I'm not saying any such thing. I'm saying the PS2 Library is no reason to buy a PS3. Damn good reason to pickup the PS2 for ~$100, As opposed to the GC Library is a great reason to buy a Wii.
Personally I only miss God of War and Collosus ( I hear Great thing about ICO too), I have SW Battlefront on my PC and most other non ps2 exclusives as well.
you can get Resident Evil 4 for PS2 for $19.99 and play it on your PS3..... after a few games i guess that would add up and you get your money not saved on hardware back
Yeah I suppose, But you could use the same $20 bucks and by the Cube Version. I did that first.
Unfortunately the $20 PS2 games won't play on my wii. And the selection minus RE4 is not all that great. As opposed to the 9.99 GC games I keep picking up that are and will.
Rural KY, I have only two options. SuddenLink and DSL. 3mb/s or 1.5. I chose 3. Only I recieved 1Mbs. I use linux and knemo gives me a steady stream of data as to throughput and I have NEVER got even close to 75% of my advertised 3mb, Complaints to Suddenlink and Hours on the telephone has led me to the conclusion that I should have gone DSL. They have since "upped my speed to 3mbs but I havent noticed it. Average DL speed is a pretty constant 31kb/s Less than Dial up for $DIETY sake. This is why I pay for High Speed Broadband?
Comming from Florida and TimeWarner/Brighthouse where I had a constant 10mb/s, Dissatisfied is an understatement.
apt-get update is the most painful part of my existence now. Second only to uploading work back to FL.
They don't talk about Linux on CNN, they don't write about Linux in Cosmo or Maxim. Hell, how often do you see it mentioned in 'science' magazines, like Discover or Popular Science?
My Point is Linux is everywhere, You'd be hard pressed to find a neihborhood that doesn't have 60% of the homes in it containing at least one linux based device. Tivo, Router, Spa, Cellphone, PDA, NAS, and that number is constantly growing. True most consumers don't know they use linux every day, from the webservers they visit to the phone they use, and that is a good thing. I don't care if there ever comes a day when "the Year of the Linux Desktop" happens because that year came for me 5 yrs ago.
My daughter has never known a Windows desktop, and she is perfectly happy.
Me, I still cringe when I have to load up the VM XP I use for testing windows builds of my software. (/rocking in shower, Still not clean, Still not clean.)
Now if you will excuse me, I have to browse the web on my Nokia 770, connected wirelessly through my Lynksys Router to check the prices on a new Dell Ubuntu laptop.
As a conservative, and an IT employee to boot, I resent your post.
Resent it all you want. Hard numbers of democrats vs republicans are hard to come by, but we can use campaign contributions (which at least are recorded) according to open secrets.org.
Electronics/Computer Industry
2006 55% Dem.......44% Rep
2004 59% Dem.......40% Rep
2002 60% Dem.......40% Rep
2000 54% Dem.......45% Rep
In my personal experience its even more slanted to the dems. We just don't give as much as republicans do to campaigns.
I'm absolutely sure there are Republican IT workers, just like I'm sure there are Black republicans, they just aren't the majority. This is the crux of the parent post that you take offense to.
This is where I would normally insert a joke about How the competence of republican IT workers is equal to the competence of Republican Administrations, but that would just be cruel and possibly redundant.
This action by the US president concerns many Nerds. and It certainly "matters" And is rightfully posted in a place where the distinct opinion of us "Nerds" can be voiced without all the politicos drumming in.
My nerdly opinion, It sucks. Abuse of power and all that.
Special Note to Congress and future Independent Prosecutors, wait until after the election to go after the rest of the slimy law breaking, contitution ignoring bastards.(This does not include the entire administration just the ones fitting this description, as I'm sure there are a few good public servants Monica Goodling hasn't had fired.)
Good News, you cannot pardon/commute an impeachment can you?
Seriously this implies all information from now will be lost.
I'm pretty sure after a few dozen-billion-years, even if it's not lost, we won't care.
Couldn't we care now? What the hell are time capsules for anyway? Forward thinking individuals like Carl Sagan cared, and sent out Human information years ago, And we probably will again. "Foundation" anyone?
Other military people have come forward, including a high ranking general (who released a book). The general claimed all our current technology came from UFOs.
The General's name was Phillip Corso and the book was called "The Day After Roswell"
An individual who is not that connected to the internet might think Youtube is an application...or is it?
If the article was in the WSJ you might have a point. But even the WSJ has informed the world of youtube, thanks to google buying them, and lawsuits and such.
I think there's been an iPhone story every day for the last two weeks. Let it go already.
While I agree that the glut of iPhone stories is ridiculous, This particular piece of news (the only thing missing from the glut, prices) is of great interest to millions of geeks, nerds, and technophiles (not to mention the 14 apple fanboys) who will line up on Friday, and as such, warrants a mention on their website of choice.
Rest assured we still have plenty of space for articles about google.
A dog just wants to be a dog. A chicken just wants to be a chicken. A pig a pig. A frog a frog.
Dunno about your's, but my dog wants to be a human.
I've never been confident enough in my observational abilities to discern what a chicken, pig, or frog wants to be, but if I had to guess, I bet it does not want to be dinner. Which is almost the very definition of pig and chicken and in some countries frog.
You are welcome to use any standard you like, its not so complicated. Serial Data over rs232 still works great. Hell zigbee wireless emulates rs232 behavior even over usb. It's not as complicated as it sounds. Now you want to talk in the kernel. Then you have to think "in the kernel". And that can be complicated, it is documented, but you cannot expect to just get it.
Translation: We don't need no stinking Badgers.
Well of course they are denying it. Those Badgers were told if captured we will disavow any knowledge of you or your activities.
The real trick is teaching these Badgers to eat only insurgents.
Scully and Reyes Sex scene now we are talking Box Office Gold.
You should have said "tech pundits", not "tech writers".
Hey, give him a break, he is, after all, only a tech writer.
That's it I've had it. I'm just gonna start answering every rhetorical question asked by Slashdot.
His basic argument hinges on the FACT that it is his choice to continue to use GPL v2. Saying otherwise that he "should" use GPL3 in the name of "freedom" is hypocritical. Agreed.

Same question I was asked about ZeldaWW.
same Answer, Yes.
It's the same , but different.e dition

I just don't know, why does Sony have to make these decisions so hard for us consumers.
I guess since I already have a fairly large GC library (Adding all the time at very inexpensive price) I can easily say FU PS3.
Resident Evil 4 (WiiEdit) is a Terriffic Game on the Wii and $29.99 retail makes it a no brainer, with enough left over for a few VC games.
