Are you serious? Digital Downloads don't compete with DVDs, these are two very different customers. One uses a DVD player for entertainment the other uses their computer. Rare is it indeed, when I stick a DVD in my computer that was not made by me. I do however watch a crapload of Movies and Videos. Even Rarer is my wife using the computer to watch something instead of popping a DVD into the box under the TV.

shit. as id we need another reason to pull out, but this one is just the most glaring reason... some international body has decided that a country can ignore our copy rights because we do not want our citizens to be able to access on-line gambling?

Um, Yes. WE are members of the World Trade Organization. WE help write the rules. We are required to abide by them. Don't like it, tough. You suggest we Take our ball and go home. Meaning no International rules for protecting our copyrights and trademarks in the rest of the member countries.

This is a clear cut case of preferential protectionist trade practices. If you want a law that says no Internet Gambling, Fine. No Problem, You just have to really mean it. If you make exemptions for your favorite senator's OTB establishments so he doesn't have to fly to the ponies to bet on them, then Internet Gambling is suddenly only legal for a company operating inside the US. That my friend is bullshit. Not to mention the special exemptions for Fantasy Footbal.

Back in the day, long before we had competing FREE browsers, we had to pay for em. I for one was happy Microsoft bundled What I considered "necessary" Applications with the OS. Why should we have to plop down (back then) $4000 for a PC and then run out and spend another couple hundred to $1000 for apps, just to listen to music or browse the web.

Sure like everyone else here, I wish it wasn't IE. But at least you could browse the web. It wasn't the bundling we were upset with, it was the anti competitiveness of MS to OEMs who wanted to ship Netscape.

    Skip ahead to present.

Personally I hope IE phones home to see that every Windows reinstall I've ever done shows Firefox download as the very first web destination. I used to replace the Firefox icon with IE's now I replace the IE Icon with this one. That is assuming I cannot convince them to switch to Linux.

I understand Opera being upset. But I don't see where they can complain anymore. They should focus their efforts on bundling their browser with hardware, like the Wii, and cell phones. Does doing so make their position hypocritical?

How many people still code for IE? I don't. If it doesn't look good in IE, I could care less. @work I force everybody to use Firefox. We put a best viewed in Firefox badge on our sites and fret not, Saving untold # of man hours and headaches.

What am I agreeing to do?
To participate, you will need to agree to allow Microsoft to gather and record information about the use of your home computer on an ongoing basis. By agreeing to voluntarily participate in the Windows Feedback Program, you agree that:

    * You will abide by all terms stated and referred to in the Terms of Use and Notices ("Agreement"), including granting Microsoft a license to use your data and feedback.
    * You will install software provided to you by Microsoft to facilitate and allow data to be recorded, transmitted, and used by Microsoft.
    * You will be invited to participate in occasional online surveys.

    Then this one.

Will I be able to see what data I'm sharing with you?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to look at your specific data. We designed the Windows Feedback Program software specifically to avoid any interference with your work or how your computer functions. To do that, the data you are sharing is stored in a binary format (zeros and ones) rather than in text format. Storing the data in binary format makes it very small and easy to share with us, but difficult for you to translate and interpret.

Stop it, I'm gonnan pee. This one

Does my shared data have a unique identifier? Yes, we have a unique identifier for your data. This allows us to tell between one customer having an error 100 times and 100 customers having the same error once. Being able to make that distinction is very valuable in prioritizing how we improve our products.
