Maybe, Just maybe, Microsoft and Linux fans can sit down at the same table and talk about the current computer market scene, but it will take some SERIOUS, serious change in Microsoft's approach (FUD, monopolizing, etc.). It would be a great day, but hopefully Microsoft will at some point open at least some of its software up.

99% of all filtered websites out there have English domains. It would seem that Chinese who are just starting with the internet would go first to chinese domain names. They might go so far as to have a "white" list for english domain names
If a company buys out an OSS, you can often still get the older, free version somewheres on the internet. It may not be as updated, but at least it is free.

I am not surprised at all by the Bush Administration's decision, which is obviously politcal. What I AM surprised about is that they openly told the truth about their political filtering. Hmm..., maybe this is a trend?
But why not just dunk the whole drive into a air-tight container full of liquid nitrogen to cool it? Then you get good readings and guerenteed cooling!

I just left a messages expressing how it seems unfair to the very people paying for NOAA, the American taxpayer, to pay for a service that would only be available through corporations. If we could slashdot his phone message service with many calls, at least he will know that the american people want free weather service!
With the advent of this new treatment, maybe thousands of diabetics could have the ability to live insulin-injection free. Yes, they do have to take anti-rejection drugs, but it is no different then taking the drugs for an organ transplant. Even if this is only a prelude to a new, more permenent treatment, the possibilities of this doing good with this new treatment is huge.

If Microsoft really want's Macromedia, they'll probably be more then happy to by Adobe, who bought Macromedia.

1)Buy god-knows-what-it-is brand DRAM dirt cheap of the internet from some fly-by-night internet site.
2) Try the DRAM. If it is untested and it doesn't work, procede to step 3>
3) Drag the god-knows-what-it-is company to court, suing for no quality assurance.
4) Place feet on my desk, smile, and start counting my brand new stash of 20's.
It is open source. What more can you ask for?
If I program something in Visual Studio 05, and there is a beta bug in it and my enterprise server app with 100000 customers fails, can I sue M$?
I am probably more apt to be hit by an African Swallow then be killed by this asteroid.
