    Its a republic. Democracy is a dirty word synonimous with mob rule. The word democracy apears nowhere in the constituion or related documents. Its use is merely a populist attempt to overthrow perfectly good and well thought out methods for maintaining a government.

    I wish Apple would let it out, or port it to the PPC. A/UX, IMHO, is much nicer than OS X. It does an excelletn job of being UNIX and being Macintosh all at once. It shiped with an Xserver right away, that could be used by its self, or under Finder to run X applications. OS X, as far as I know, forces one to go a lookin' for it. Mostly, i jsut dislike Aqua. it's much too candied.

    I don't think many of the guys in physics at this lab bathe much. One of the old guys on perminant staff says its mostly the foreigners, but i dunno. None of my friends in Accelerator wash their hair; but I think that's just a UNIX thing.

    it'll encourge cubile manufacturors to not suck so badly anymore? you know..higher walls that are strong and can't be tipped over. my highschool's english hall was basically a bunch of cubicles with a chalkboard as one side of the thing. very flimsy.

    I don't understand why would really even need to see stuff that badly. If programmed properly, like in Clisp with some "insanely great ((C) Steve Jobs) voice recognition and natural language parsers, we should just have to talk to the computer. No typeing, no mouse clicking, no eyes strain. If we want some information back, it could tell us, print it, or display it on a projector or something. Sort of like Star Trek?

    If people start writing for new java, then people with old java shall get cut out -- the Windows users, more than likely. They are going to have to get new java on there own, and i'm not sure how many people want to. However, they will likely have .NET forced on them anyway. New Java will just encourage use of C# unless it remains backwards compatible.

    would be very glad to see this work out. Apparantly, the filter they use at my local public library uses filters a lot of stuff that isn't pornographic at all. My sister had a report to do about communism and was trying to do stuff there, but they blocked communist-related websites. my school for the longest time blocked http://www.gnu.org (the BSD websites were unaffected though). I also could not find stuff about UK politcal parties from school. They cut out a lot of stuff that is blatantly unconstitutional to cut.

    The whole damned thing could have been won after 1st manassis. nothern generals before Grant became eastern theatre commander were fairly lame. However, the south didn't make the move. If they had followed the nothern army on the retreat, they would have been able to take DC on the first day of the war. That would more than likely be called 'winning' -- capturing the enemy capitol in record time. yup.

    Why is it that the Macintosh is always haveing rumors about it? Apple in general. What is it about Apple folk that makes them need to start/spread them? This isn't supposed to be a troll, honestly. It just seems that Apple has developed a cult that (most) other computer companies have not (slaves don't count).
