A few years ago I saw a fairly long report on the presence of a massive supervolcano under Yellowstone national park, which had erupted something like 60K years ago and which seems to erupt at regular intervals, the next eruptino being a few years late right now. This is probably a wild guess, but does anyone else think that perhaps lava from the present bassins under Yellowstone might be tunneled to Mt St-Helens?
It may be kind of far for lava to travel, but you never know, considering what I remember hearing about the imensity of the supervolcano potentially involved.

that isn't even funny!
heh.. anyway, since january things have come a LOOOONGG way in the IM world. take a look at the CVS of aMSN if you'd like more info - it's got webcam, doodles, nudges and more (but there might be things i don't know about, i haven't been keeping track of it lately)
as the number of new computer users increases, their average level of intelligence decreases. same thing happens when it comes to IT professionals, sorry to say.
yes. the CVS (development) version of amsn supports msn webcam (not videoconference)...it uses libmimic, which has previously been reported on slashdot.
"Already, synthetic biologists have created a polio virus and another smaller virus by stitching together individual genes purchased from biotechnology companies."
so... i see we can patent life now? perhaps we should attempt the founding of a free(speech+beer)/open genetic library... come to think of it, that would seriously kick ass:) it would be like the next step for computer geeks' war against boredom.
how do you expect me to believe this?
but yeah.... perhaps this could be used for further google earth developments.

well, the current composite in xorg is mostly software accelerated, irrc... it's there, but it's kind of buggy... and slow. however this article seems to explain that Xorg will support better acceleration of Xrender, which is used for this kind of eyecandy.
from the article:
"New Acceleration Architecture for X.org:
At the recent European X.Org Developers Meeting KDE developer and Trolltech employee Zack Rusin presented a new acceleration architecture named Exa (eyecandy X architecture) for X.org. Being based on KAA (KDrive acceleration architecture) it's designed to be an alternative to the currently used XAA (XFree86 acceleration architecture) with better acceleration of XRender which is used by composite managers for desktop eyecandy effects. The next X.org release which is expected to contain Exa is planned to be released in September."
not sure if this is what you're looking for/thinking about... i believe it is though. right?
Umm, let me correct you there: gaim-vv and msn videoconferencing no longer work as of the latest gaim-vv release, for which the changelog notes that it will be using Farsight for msn webcam/videoconferencing...
...I guess you didn't get that having an msn webcam codec is a big advancement for the Farsight project, which I am told will be ready for use with many IM clients within 2-3 months.
This site has links to sites with linux drivers for several Logitech webcams... It's thanks to this site that I got my "QuickCam Messenger" working in linux... IMO it's running better in linux... But no big surprise, there, eh...

Here's a bit of searching I made on Google Maps

NOTE - never use the term "energy source" when referring to hydrogen because it only carries energy that has to come from somewhere else
...just like every other energy source?
Just give your computer *Zed* for a hostname...then you'll enjoy the meticulous job, Marcellus...
