    And political opposition is usually not marked on the ID cards. Frankly, not having an ID card is not going to make it that much harder to track down political opposition. After all, by definition, political opposition needs to reach people in able to be effective. But then, the feds can track down anyone that you or me can track down. So this is pointless at best

    So much as I understand it, a GPU works much more efficiently then a CPU because it is much more flatter then a CPU - whereas a CPU work very quickly on one thread at a time, a GPU can work on a bunch more threads a lot slower. But the GPU adds up to more flops. Okay. Now, as I understand it, a Pentium 2 generally performs 1/5 the amount of work that a modern single core CPU does. As far as I understand it, a pentium 2 requires very, very, little dies space to make if we make it with a modern process. Which means that if intel feels like it, they can release a chip with 100 very small cores on it if they wish. So if that chip is not considered to be valuable, then why would this be?

    It boots slower then vista. And it runs slower then vista. After all, Vista is also quite snappy on my machine.

    I think that you are forgetting that KDE is slower then vista, at least on my PC. So whatever is causing KDE to be so slow is what is causing vista to be so slow.

    Do the math. 100 Mbps for 3000 is also 5Mb for 150. He was right. It was a lot more then 40.

    If this is true, then we might finally get some competent drivers from the new AMD/ATI. Also, they might cook up CPU instructions that are much faster at running ATI graphics drivers.
