There are good guys, and there are bad guys. (Yeah, I tend to see the world in black & white). Google was one of the good guys. (Also Apple, Nintendo, etc) and AOL was one of the semi-bad guys (along with Microsoft, Sony, etc). This messes up my whole worldview. I'm confused now.
Yeah, you are confused, because there are no "semi-bad guys" in a world of black and white.
Oh, it's just as good. It's just not quite as long. Which seems to make sense until you realize that ARMs 1 through 5 are actually bigger than ARM9, ARM6 is really tiny, ARM8 is a leg, and ARM10 looks like an outie belly button.
You laugh, but this is actually a good solution. After living through the tangle of multiple prior generation consoles, I made a conscious decision this time to choose one and stick with it. So I did my research, chose one, and never looked back. Takes a lot of self control, but it works. Avoiding the mess is a higher priority for me.
But will people really be willing to spend more on the screwing-around computer than on a workhorse computer? I can only speak for myself, but when faced with that decision, the temptation to just buy a new workhorse computer would be too great.
But maybe that's just me. Eah, I'll shut up now, before this gets too off-topic.
Do you think there is that much of a market for Tablet PCs? I keep seeing all this hype about how Microsoft thinks it's the next big form factor, but as a consumer, I can't see any reason why I would want one.
Here's my position: I think the Tablet PC will fall flat on its face because consumers won't see the increase in price over a regular desktop computer to be worth the added benefit (whatever that is). If you think I'm wrong, please enlighten me! I desperately want to know what the big deal is. If I'm right, though, why would Apple want to get into this market?
... So if you want a Mac laptop, you are fucked. You are FORCED by microsoft's opinion that everyone is a fucking idiot. As the owner of a titanium G4 mac, and a couple g4 desktop's, I'm offended. Of course I was forced to buy new mice, but the built-in trackpad on the laptop is not replaceable.
Exactly! And I don't know about you, but the fact that my immune system is capable of handling environments 400 times filthier than the average toilet seat makes me feel pretty damn studly. Now excuse me while I clean the john with my tongue.
But how the data is stored doesn't determine whether a database is relational or not. It's how the data is viewed and accessed. If the user can see the data as tables and run a join query against them, it's a relational database!:)
Um, how is MySQL not relational? How can something with SQL in its name not be relational?

Man, I think you need to go back and read the book again.
Refactoring has everything to do with making complicated designs simpler. And it doesn't have anything to do with adding in additional features (or taking them out, for that matter). I think you must be confusing refactoring with something else.

Overkill is fine as long as you do refactor. It's probably better to design too much and prune than to underdesign and bandage. In fact, I would go as far as to say that overkill + refactoring is a very strong programming practice!

Cool! I can't wait to see what kind of special features they put on the DVD.
I, for one, would have bought an online adapter for this game.
My favorite announcer comment: "Eagle eye" when you hit a flying vehicle with the tank's main canon.

Do they even do reviews on Electric Playground? Maybe you're thinking of Judgement Day.
I have often tried to "up the gamma" through my gf's "control panel," but she will have none of it. I must be doing it wrong.
Just kidding! Like I'm actually going to keep track of the karma for every single AC post I make. Silly mods.
Trust me, if Apple's 970 machines come out in January, it will be like Christmas in January. Mac folk have been waiting way too long for this.
As a US citizen, my life ceases to exist every April 15th.
It's too bad that C64 is dying, or dead by now I guess.
No, they still use them in Afghanistan to play pirated movies.

...I was able to add three inches to my penis (an increase of over 20%)....
...nobody was more suprised than me that it worked.
Well, except my wife.
Really? I wouldn't think that the difference between 15 and 18 inches would be that noticeable....
Hmm. Let's try it:

Nah, that would just be confusing.
What?
Damn cow-orkers can visit goatse for all I care! If I ever catch them orking my cows again, I will shoot them, I swear.
I believe that particular contribution was Duckpins.

Ah, that's the distinction. Makes sense. Thanks.
So MySQL didn't used to enforce foreign key constraints, huh? Interesting....
