    Due to the removal of Labs, I no longer have an upcoming calendar events on the left side. I can open a today view on the right, but not just a list of upcoming events.

    The US requirement is from Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
    However, Microsoft charges $0.50 for child accounts, not adult, and donates it to charity.

    He's mentioned on his podcast that he created his gamertag as "Major Nelson" after his TiVo at the time recommended that episode of "I Dream of Jeannie".

    I have used Ubuntu Studio 12.04 and 12.10 for about a year. Given I only record and edit 2 channel audio, but I have had no issues with stability or latency. Running other apps and games have not had any issues with the low latency kernel either.

    The PS3 supposedly ran a modified FreeBSD as well. So between experience and licensing, it does make some sense.

    Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii support USB keyboards. Not for gameplay, but for text input. I believe only PS3 has a few games that support keyboards in-game.

    True of the SNES, but the N64 had some games that recommended and others required the expansion RAM pack.

    It is still unclear if h.264 is used on discs, and I already said they need to pay if that's the case. They do include system updates on Microsoft published game discs for the offline systems.

    My understanding is that the Xbox 360 uses Windows Media Audio 10 Professional for all system and game audio.

    If the main issue is the H.264 video codec, why can't they just switch to Microsoft WMV/VC-1 or one of the many open source ones available? Sounds like a simple software system update to me if its just the video apps doing it. If H.264 is used on game discs then MS needs to payup.

    In XP Display Properties, change to Windows XP style. Resize taskbar to double height and Time, Day, and Date are shown.

    One of the free providers is Crackle.com which is like HuluPlus except free and Sony-only movies and television content. Yes, that means we can finally watch Seinfeld since Netflix doesn't stream it! The slap to PS3 owners is that Sony doesn't have this on their own system, haha.

    They will support Xbox Live protocols and apps, so perhaps XNA and Silverlight would be part of the OS and not a plugin!
