They literally repost months-old stories as if they're brand new. This one was posted on CNET in October.
Not only is it garbage, their own "about" page talks about a different news organization that doesn't appear to exist. I am pretty sure this is just a Facebook clickbait news generator.

Luckily, in this case, having lived around Stephentown, N.Y. I can say there is likely little NIMBY paranoia as there's a whole lot of nothing except trees and hills. Therefore if a flywheel does break out, it won't have to travel far to find a large dirt mound to imbed itself into.
Here in the great US of A we're not allowed to touch booze until a full 3 years after we're allowed to shoot others in the name of the goverment, vote, and buy porn.
And the morality police should be allowed to scan your hard disk for smut. And the safety police should be allowed to make you wear a helmet in your car.
The saftey police DO make me wair a seatbelt in my car...
I have vonage, and I'm pretty happy with the service. I'd say 8 out of 10 calls are good enough. I use the service more as a 15 dollar voicemail service. As I don't like phones, this is a cheap and easy solution for me.
However I've had some odd experences. For instance a friend of mine had it, then canceled it. When he had vonage, he setup call fowarding to his parents cell phone (they all lived in the same house). Well, they canceled for a bunch of reasons (mostly quality). Now when I call their house the call gets automaticly fowarded to the cell phone, since I'm a vonage customer. They've called them about the problem several times and there's "nothing they can do".
I'm not very surprised that scientists are describing the universe as much older than previously thought. One of the fundimental problems of the big bang theroy was when incorperating the size of the universe it would have ment that it expanded much faster than the speed of light. (or at least this is my understanding of the big bang theory)
Does this have serious geek-cred? Sure. Would anyone but a total masochist try to run such a configuration, for anything more than bragging rights? HELL no!
I think this is beyond bragging rights, its like people who buy hummers just to have the biggest toy on the block. We call it compensation =)
I wonder what percentage of people who will be running quad sli 7900's live in their parents basement.
Although I'm a college student, my experences are that once people graduate college(and are making the money to afford these toys), generally they realize what a waste of money it is to stay on the bleeding edge of PC Gaming tech
I don't know though, perhaps there is a larger market for these than I think.
Internet2 was announced in October 1996, now 10 years later it still seems to be poorly developed. Internet2 was going to be the net of the future. Now it is the future, and we still have a significant population unable to get broadband (I don't consider satalite internet feasable), and its still priced too high for other users.
I'm all for advancing these new technologys, but too often it is forgotten that portions of the population can't even subscribe to an aging technology.
The digital divide is still alive and well unfortunally.
I think you're on to something saying they should take a hint from game designers. I want a desktop i can control with AWSD and my mouse.
Please excuse me while i patent this, then sit on it until its developed, and sue the pants off the developing company.
Whats the chance that they'll make more money on the advertising and just give the game away. I think this would be a great method of product placement. Worked great when the US Armed Services gave away 'america's army'. They could also update the ads either on a regular basis over the internet, or through patchs.
Heck, why not include some form of google ad sence that ties in with your brousing and PRESTO your new faverate video game not only sells you products but products specificly marketed to you.
Although I wouldn't play a game like this for free, people will soon be PAYING to be sold advertisements. Like when you sit and watch the newest pop film in the theater.
Its worse when you skip important life events like annerveries because they happen to fall on your regular d&d game night.
Or
Declining job offers for better jobs because they would cause you to miss game night.
I go through a speech with any of the girls i date (quite a small number i assure you) that basicly states "Every other sunday, you don't exist, D&D exists."
I completely agree that a well maintained older chair is better than newer plastic ones. The chair I use is from 1960 has a steel metal frame and is quite comfy. The other advantage is I can throw it down a flight of stairs and still use it. (its about 20 pounds)
Also oblitory room shots. Room I've recently moved since this photo, but, this was the most glorious setup I ever had. I had to crawl to get into it, but I liked it.
Apple Exec Claims "We're Not IBM's Lapdog" And they've proven that.
If Dell's CTO wants some crediblity on his statement, maybe he should try to make public moves that show it.
I use to have a wired subscription, although I noticed that their articles had a very commercial feel to them. I always felt that I was reading a well scripted advertisement rather than a real review. For this reason i canceled my subscription pretty quickly. This article seems no different. Wired seems to be predicting the demise of mp3 in favor of properity drm media. I don't see how mp3 is on the way out. Thats like saying jpeg is going out of style because theres better formats out there. Most people, even non computer users know what an mp3 is. I'd be willing to say less 'non techies' know about aac or wmv. MP3 is a household term, and for this, will most likely be a hard format to kill.
With the customer support history of the two companys, i'd rather not go through either of these companys for any or my realtime telecommunicaion needs. I'd say in the end large telco's vs microsoft will amount to a zero sum for the consumer.
in spite of the vendors who are offering tin-foil hats for their RFID cards.
Tin Foil Hats?
Thats 20th century technology, get with the times, these days we're microwaving everything to ensure total rfid tag destruction. "microwave everything" thats the wave of the 21st century.

Easy, just keep reading slashdot *runs*
Atlas Shrugged was just picked up about a month ago by Liongate Films (same folks who did saw)

The ol David Brin Theory. I'm not going to explain it, I'll just link away

So Time Warner which owns Road Runner offers Digital Phone for 49.95 a month.
Time Warner owns AOL and AOL offers VOIP for $14.95.
As if we couldn't already figure out why the AOL Time Warner marrage didn't work out, the are apparently under cutting their own product.
You're going to need that unlimited plan to get in touch with tech support

Gun companies advertising in FPS games, like the video game industry needs more "links" to violence and violent behavior.

Now you too can be amazed how fast your mac can turn from a sleek machine into a pop up filled zombie email machine.

This is the most confusing award of a patent to date.
What the hell are they thinking over there in the USPO?
Are they still on AOL 3.0?
