Bad news: 1. Linspire was my first distro. It was TERRIBLE. Didn't even come with GCC. I tried calling the support line for help but I never got to anyone. Eventually I switched to Fedora. 2. Linspire has proprietary parts, thus this isn't really helping the Free Software movement.
A five button mouse. How original. Yesterday I though you could actually change the dimensions of the buttons when they said "touch sensitive". That would really be something new.
"Everyone is using it, and they don't realize how bad it is. And the Linux people will just stick with it and add to it rather than stepping back and saying, 'This is garbage and we should fix it.'"
So... much... detail!
"I think our code quality is higher, just because that's really a big focus for us," De Raadt says. "Linux has never been about quality. There are so many parts of the system that are just these cheap little hacks, and it happens to run." As for Linus Torvalds, who created Linux and oversees development, De Raadt says, "I don't know what his focus is at all anymore, but it isn't quality."
Oh my, a browser stores things in ~/.mozilla/firefox!!! What are we going to do?!?!
Does this mean a mix between AMD64 and PPC?
Keke I remember this from StumbleUpon ^^
A great way of spreading information.

I'm sure most GNU/Linux users would use shareware. Make it FOSS and they'd buy it.

...Billy doesn't have enough oxygen ^^
Try KPlayer. It's just a KDE fronted for MPlayer. Once you've KPlayer installed you can also use it as a backend in Kaffeine.
That was genius.
If it's so GNU, what's with the restrictive license?
Another basic browser that just has stop, refresh, home, back, forward, search bar and tabs.
Don't say "that's called Firefox." Firefox has something more: extensions and themes.
That was hella fast.
I like my artificial light! :(
Michael Roberson's an idiot. End of story.
Another win for proprietary software.
Unless it's not centered in america :)
Make sure they learn Dvorak before QWERTY as QWERTY was designed to slow people down!
You took my fingers right off the keyboard.
Errr... actually I guess you didn't since I'm typing this.
Hooray for taking others' ideas, putting your name on them and selling them!
"or those of you with little time to research each distro yourself."
If you don't have time to try distros then you don't have time to learn GNU/Linux at all.
- don't know what an operating system is.
- use IE.
- think the OEM is the only thing that makes computers different.
- that have a good Internet connection and CD burner still pay for a lot of software.
- use a commercial and proprietary 'anti-virus'.
- are morons.
Just because most americans are morons I don't want the gov't snooping into our (geeks) Internet."Everyone is using it, and they don't realize how bad it is. And the Linux people will just stick with it and add to it rather than stepping back and saying, 'This is garbage and we should fix it.'"

"Linux people do what they do because they hate Microsoft."
Umm... wtf? That's only a small number of zealots.
"They have the same rapid development cycle, which leads to crap,"
Not in m$'s defence, but m$'s last big OS release was four years ago.
I doubt people would even look at that CD after the salesperson showed it to them.
winwoes doesn't come with jack shit. Take a look at Fedora Core. That's almost 7 gigs of software. SEVEN GIGS!
They put proprietary software in their commercial version. I'm staying with Fedora.
