Sure, but I'm saying that the law artificially and arbitarily decides on these matters and that sexual harrassment and sexual assualt are both offences on the same continuum. One is simply more severe than the other.

Secondly, do not put words in my mouth, as I said NOTHING about want the troops to come back home..

Thirdly, I don't think the columbine shooter is an apt analogy. Perhaps a better one would be shooting a person with a BB gun as opposed to a handgun.

Finally, Please use HTML or plain text options appropriately.

Sure, and I think you're right. That said though, unlike PC users, I believe that apple users are not interested in a general purpose machine. It has long been said that the Apple is the bastion of the graphic design artist. That Is I believe the case. PCs are very general purpose by their nature. The majority of mac people switch because they have to, it sure as hell isn't for the range of software.

thank you also for pointing me to krita. Although I put out a weekly newspaper, I am currently in the throughs of helping a small not-for-profit put out a quarterly. I really do need the power of photoshop and in honesty nothing comes close. Nothing.

However, their need are modest and I will trial this and point them in the direction if it is appropriate. I really do favour GNU/Linux over proprietary.

Perhaps you need a lesson in the real world - sexism and sexual abuse is not limited to a legal definition. Regardless of what the law says, rape is sexual harassment. After being a student law at Notre Dame University and having at one stage most of my friends lawyers or wannabes, I've come to realize their insistence on classifying things legally is a hindrance to real world understanding of real issues.

If you think that military sponsored PD about sexual harassment has nothing to do with the statement, "do not rape Iraqi civilians including minors" then you're fucked in the head. Seriously.

That said, I agree that the defense forces of both our countries are doing an excellent job, and their reputation is tarnished by a minority.

For the average Joe, they can transition more slowly. Going cold turkey meant he had to migrate note, eudora, etc...however the easy solution is to put the mac on your desk, the PC in the back room and walk tot he PC when neccesary. Within about a month most people could transistion. It took me about 3 days a couple of years ago.

Maybe; news for nerds is a big area to cover. As an Apple user I knew instantly what that meant. I may though be less inclined to know what the "Rails Recipe" article was about. I think the alternatives aren't very desirable. Extremely verbose and long winded titles on one hand -

e.g. Apple's Illuminous (Aqua v2 - the style and gui interface for OS X - the operating system which powers Apple computers (Apple was a computer company started in XXXX) to Compete with Aero (the alternative from windows) - a contraversial article because windows is starting to try to compete with apple on their own terms

or we demote every article that isn't completely universal.

Sure people could restructure their preferences to highlight and demote sections as required, but the payoff is less new users because of the added layer of complexity.
