Mod parent up. What the hell is wrong with a community that instantly rejects any suggestion of racism- mostly, I suspect, without actually reading the evidence presented? Have an open mind; maybe the people interviewed have something interesting to say.
But the text on that website is extremely unprofessional; it reads more like a rant than an open letter to Ballmer. Grammatical mistakes abound, as does use of slang. I'm all for the idea, but it has to be pursued in a manner such that there is some chance of Microsoft responding.
If its not science then it shouldn't be considered academic
What the hell are you talking about? Are you seriously suggesting that history, philosophy, literature, languages and art are "not academic?" That kind of lack of respect for other fields than your own (although with that kind of attitude I seriously doubt you're actually a scientist) is what separates science from other disciplines and leads to the public's distrust of science.
I'll put in a vote for jEdit. It's a nice GUI editor (with some of the features of an IDE) that is amazingly customizable and lets me code the way I want to.
And why should they? Microsoft is guilty of plenty, but if Gates' money leads to a cure for AIDS/Alzheimers/whatever, I'm all for forgiving and forgetting.
What, exactly, is your point? The police are supposed to be protecting you by investigating crime and arresting suspects. Laws don;t exist in a vacuum; they are designed (or they should be) to protect you.
I checked out the source of the article (just like the guy says to) and it is, in fact, pretty damn bad. The tag is used a lot (rather a big no-no now) and, furthermore, all of the tags are in uppercase. I realize that the latter problem is easy to rectify, but nobody should be using uppercase tags anymore.
That was one of the most twisted, surreal and obtuse extended metaphors I've ever seen.
"The dinosaur is the mainframe, the cat is the monkey."
What???
MS products provided the competition that Linux needed to advance.

I think that sums it up pretty well.
Translation: I don't watch the news; odd that I don't know about current events.
Hmmm...

It was against the law, and he knew it. I don't care why he was doing it.

Jobs: "Well, yes. If we did do it, we'll just have to be killed."
If you don't cite sources, I don't have to cite mine.
The Republican party has been known to cause warts and, in extreme cases, leprosy. I could care less if they dissolved tomorrow.
Are you living in the Stone Age, man? Every website created it the last 2 years has been a blog!
What everyone in the packed night club was thinking:
What the **** is this, and where are the strippers?

Steve Balmer: I will fucking bury Google! I will fucking bury Dell! I will fucking bury EVERYBODY!
Very true. Whenever I order a new PC, I spend more time uninstalling than I do installing.
Google desktop came with my Dimension E510 ~three months ago. Is Dell just reporting this now?
Yeah- now people using XP can be ripped off as well.
"the tag" = the "font" tag.
Okay, someone has to say it.
