    I wouldn't necessarily say it took him that long for those reasons you listed. When I was in 8th grade (I'm 32 now) the teachers would assign so much busy work that it took me from the moment I got home around 5 until midnight sometimes to finish it all. I ranked among the top 2 percent in the nation, so I wasn't dumb, and I had nobody to help me. This was in a public school in Georgia. It still goes on. A few years ago, enough parents complained that the local news took interest and did a story on it. I moved the middle of that year to Houston to live with my father. The school there was so much better. They focused on quality, not quantity.

    I have a fairly new Dell hooked to a dock, using an external CRT. Mepis had serious problems with the video.

    It's one thing to get a BSOD on your monitor. It's common and expected. It's another to get it on your 52" HDTV. That would just prompt anger and a broken window, with cords dangling behind where the MS entertainment whatever used to be.

    I just installed this to test it out, and it ran very slow. The spyware protection is nothing more than what is included in the latest versions of NAV. What a gyp. It is now uninstalled. AVG, Firefox, and Spyware Guard and Blaster do me just fine.

    I know what you mean. I own a Gainward Ti4800SE and it works wonders, even on AGP 4x. Of course Gainward was known for the ability to greatly overclock. I wish I could find another one of these cards for my kids' computer. That card cost me all of $150 and ran Doom 3 great.

    I'll have to agree 3/4 out of fully on this statement. I know some parents get SUVs because they think they are safer. However, it only begs the rollover safety question.

    Now for adults without children, fire away! Or, for a less violent method, force them to drive a CAR!
