Trying to point out that he *might* be considered both a traitor AND a hero, I've gotten modded to oblivion multiple times. No wonder people drift toward one side or the other, if anyone in the middle gets systematically ignored.
Actually, as a citizen of the state I can tell you that what many people disagreed with was the ability of these city managers to throw elected officials out of office. If you're going to do that, then you should at least be required to vote for the replacement, but that didn't happen either.
Second time today I've seen a dumb comment that ignores the 2.5 hour difference between when they posted and when the comment they are replying to was posted. Probably the editors fixed the issue since the GP made his comment.
If that's the case, then there is an obvious argument to be made that he is NOT working in the public's interest. If he were, he should have shared "the good stuff" first.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but the timestamps of the two posts you are replying to are about 3 hours ahead of your post. A lot of moderation can happen in that amount of time, which can change the tone of the entire thread quite a bit.
In any case, let this be a lesson to men in general. Don't donate your sperm to two crazy girls over the internet.
I also wonder what was in it for him. It sounds like this was a chance at a guilt-free sexual encounter (or a series of them) on his part. Obviously I'm making some assumptions here but it's very possible and even likely that from his perspective this was more about a chance at a menage e trois and less about donating sperm to be helpful.
I still don't agree with the ruling, but I find it unlikely that this was an up-and-up situation to begin with.
I should have paid more attention to the summary. My solution does not work right out of the box, but it does work with only an hour or two of setup if you know your way around google (looking for how others did it).
I picked up a 1TB Buffalo Linkstation. It already runs a flavor of linux that you can telnet into fairly easily. You can then install something like uShare on it which is a DLNA server. It works well for me, I have a TV that can connect via DLNA or I can also connect via the PS3 or the XBox 360. Note that the PS4 and XBoxOne don't support DLNA even though their previous editions did.
As my dad always said, if you don't wear a helmet while biking, you've got nothing worth protecting anyway. Parent post does a pretty good job of demonstrating this.
It's an interesting conundrum in football -- they need the helmets to protect their heads from contact with other hard objects in the game. Largely, those hard objects are other helmets. This is very different from other helmet-wearing sports, such as Hockey where you have the puck, ice, and walls to deal with; or baseball where the batter and catcher wear a helmet but nobody else does.

Not really, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
If this rock has bug guts on the underside, I suspect NASA would be far more interested in it.
Well done.
And that, children, is the lesson of the day. (Where are my mod points when I need them? +1 Too Informative...)

So he's blowing the whistle quietly, but for a really long time? I don't think that's how whistles are meant to work.

You beat me to it!

We're only right when my party is in office! Everything we do is wrong when your party is in office!
I know an awful lot of Americans who see everything through those same eyes.
Had to look it up, but parent is right about Mars having ~24hr days (24:40 to be exact). I never realized that.

At this rate there will be no dumb shits left by the end of the day!
Made-up statistics rarely stay constant.

You must have a terrible bike helmet, then.
Would it be better, from a legal perspective, if Google's bus just stopped on the side of the road similar to what taxis do?
Accounting may say that, but the tax department might trump them with "Awesome, we can use that as another tax write off!"
I think (or hope) that's the whole point of his post, and is why it's marked +5 Funny.
