Seems that when a study slashdotters don't agree with (video games "boost" teen violence), we get a huge amount of "correlation != causation" posts and tags. When it's a study that slashdotters agree with or like (visiting slashdot during work improves your performance; don't feel guilty!), we're a little bit more lax on the fact that it's just as guilty of faulty logic, typical statistics, etc...

Damnit I don't care how bogus the statistics are! If it justifies what I do at work all day anyway, I'm gonna take it as gospel proof until my boss comes back with a refutation in Science.

I disagree. Before I started reading slashdot I was outgoing and girls liked me. Now I live in my parents basement, fear the sun, and haven't seen a nonpixelated woman in years. The only variable change was the introduction of slashdot.

I know half the people here claim to be normal and have their own place and even girlfriends, but I think it's just a bunch of bunk!

The masturbation leading to blindness, is probably a superstition sort of thing, some guy had an orgasm, temporarily making his vision obscured, and he just took it way too far..."luckely I stopped, or it would have been permanent"

Or some guy was looking for some lesbian softcore and came across something like goatse, and in order to protect him (as brains are wont to do during traumatic experiences) his brain shut down the visual centers. I would correlate that with wanking if you were doing your bidness to an image gallery and halfway through that happened.

So this is "sexual abuse" now? They didn't even make her take all her clothes off, and the search was done by women; some school admins suspected she had a certain drug, they checked her and found nothing. Why are you imagining some sort of sexual abuse?

Uh the whole forcing a 13 yr old girl to expose herself. I know I'd probably not see the light of day for quite a while if I did it...

Yeah really. Personally, I don't care if the student was bragging about having a bomb hidden all up in her, there is absolutely no reason a stupid school official should be strip searching anybody. If it's that serious, get the parents and convince the cops to come do it. They'd both be like wtf why are you wasting our time.
