Possibly the fact that he has piles of cash and people recognize him. Look at John Elways. Who thinks "What kind of car-selling skills do you get from playing football?" but the point is that he had so much money that it doesn't matter.
When I was a kid, my parents limited us to 1 hr a day. As a result, me and my brother could completely erase any record of a (windows) computer being used in about 30 seconds and learned all where to plug in cables and such to get past the router at the age of 8. So yeah, I suppose limiting my computer time did help me out..
With commercial software, if you want support, you can get it directly from the company that makes the software. If you want Linux support, you get a company that takes a product made by someone else and only slightly changed by the company to give you support. It's not quite the same.
You know.. I really wish they'd just leave the logo alone. Why is it that every distro feels the need to rename programs, give them different icons and install them in the most annoying way possible?
I think the point is that Google isn't going to give away information to just anyone who asks, they have to fill out a form and stand in line just like everyone else.
I thought the point of Sci-Fi was that you make up a piece of science and then go with it (Asimov -> Postitronic space, Star Trek -> Subspace/warp drive which is losely based on relativity). Not that I disagree with you when you say that Dr. Who is fantasy.
So you mean that this will be sufficient for old programs that no one cares about and porn?
The tsunamis were on the front page of newspapers for DAYS. 9-11 has been in the front page of newspapers off and on for years.
Because the PS3 isn't exactly something you can't live without. Even with the government helping them along, there's nothing forcing your buy it.
I live in sort of a weird place, but around here, "Can you come over and help me with my homework" frequently ends with sex..
And of course, you could just make your own mailbox. They're not that complicated..
Can we say "even more pirated than Windows XP"?

I agree, it wouldn't be nearly as funny if it wasn't true..

You clearly do not understand how stupid people can be.. (note: this is almost a joke)

You're either referring to the price of cheap phones, or you didn't read the "with contract" part.
As if it's even necessary.. MySpace crashes my computer without help..
"Uh sir, why are you talking into your watch?"
Only terrorists want the president eaten by fictional dinosaurs!
This is Slashdot's automated mod point removal system.

I think the point is that "predicting the perfect bakery location" isn't exactly the biggest thing ever, but it's still legitimate.
Good thing my boss can't read!
Looking at the comment below, it looks like Adblock isn't against the ToS, since it doesn't use html or css to obscure the ads..
