That's because the first couple search results are "sponsored results" (meaning sites that don't really have much to do with your site, but paid google an assload of money).
Not to mention that the whole "decaying medium" argument is ridiculous. If a hard drive fails, replace it. If you get something better than hard drives, copy it. It's not like big servers only keep the information in one specific place. There's usually copies.
If Firefox had a warning every time you looked at for-profit websites and refuse to accept fancy overpriced certificates, people would be doing the same thing with another browser.
Seems to me that it's just as easier to type gmail.com than mail.yahoo.com. Of course, if I actually used my gmail account I'd have a bookmark to it. As for getting a gmail account, you have to be invited anyway.
I was under the impression that even with the "quick" rate of global warming, you're still going to have more than a couple days to pack up and leave when the water gets too high..
That's probably just that low power "suspend" thing. Hibernate turns the computer off completely (it has to write all memory to the harddrive, so unless you're not running anything at all, it should take a bit of time).
Yeah, with their shitty player that won't go fullscreen. I was going to post a comment about how much I liked the "Adult Swim Fix" website, but now it looks like it's a pretty useless as well.
Slashdot: The Movie -Has almost no plot, everything good about the movie is dependent on the random conversations of the people next to you in the theater.
Yeah so how does this work:
"...Guo's laser unleashes as much power as the entire grid of North America..."
"...the femtosecond laser can be powered by a simple wall outlet..."
So what.. the entire grid of North American can be powered by the power out of a single wall outlet?
Yeah.. at my high school you needed to get 4 years of math classes (that would be everything up to precalc), 6 years of english classes (in 4 years), and all kinds of stupid classes like PE.
Not to mention the insane amounts of homework.
Especially considering that the library people who are supposed to be teaching them are all idiots. We had to do that in my sophomore year in high school, and our librarian taught us such useful things as "Google uses boolean search terms" and "Theinternetisneverreliable".
Your argument has two problems:
1. A perfect communist government would still fail.
2. The more capitalist a nation is, the more prosperous it is (you don't need to have a completely capitalist nation to see it's effects).
Wait.. you're calling 200k cheap? This is a weapon with the government as a prospective buyer. I was under the impression that the government never bought weapons that cost less than a million dollars..
The average loading time is still too long.

Even more to the point, if you send an email to someone else, you can't reasonably expect them not to use it as evidence against you.
Yeah seriously.. First thing I think when people complain about ads online is "What ads? Oh right, I've been using Adblock.."

So you're saying Apple is in the lead because their music store doesn't use DRM? ;)
Come on, we saw what happened when space radiation effected only 4 people. Imagine how awesome it would be to have a million "fantastic" sperm!

How about to protect yourself? Or are you one of those people who thinks shooting someone who breaks into my house should get me locked in jail?
Why 4 megapixel? I was under the impression that 6 megapixel cameras were on the market..
Seems like it's an odd choice for Sony to try for "normal people". With a $600 system they shouldn't be making games for anyone but hardcore gamers..

And in 10 years we'll be like, "They paid $500 million for that?? But it can't even run Halo 10!"
When I say she told us to use boolean operators, I mean she said to use things like AND, NOT, etc.
I'm sitting on all sorts of job offers here in Colorado. Most of them suck (fast food, telemarketing, etc.) but it's not hard to get one.

I guess their whole "Let's not let anyone know anything about the Zune" campaign worked too well..
