says 12-year-old Arya VM as she plays with Tux Paint, a Linux drawing and painting application. And Windows? ``Never heard of it,'' she says.
I'd wager that this kid is from some remote village that's still marvelling at the can opener. Kids with computers at home want to play games and that means Windows.
I think you're right. Also, I'm sure The NewYorker's editorial and legal staff give what they print some consideration before they print it. I'll wager they will stand by the story.
When you speak negatively about someone, however true it may be, how likely are you to confess to it when asked by that person (or his reps) whether it was true. Human nature being what it is.
My mother-in-law does her part to combat global warming by running her air conditioning 24 hours a day with all the exterior doors in the house wide open. We need more concerned citizens like her ; )
>>I for one sometime feel I can here the stuttering steps of a digital approximation of a sine wave.
Me too. For some reason I seem to detect it more often with certain voices even when the recording is on a different label.
You're absolutely right. Even a knowledgeable xp user with relatively modern hardware will have to do a considerable amount work to get a Linux system running just the way they like it. There will be no significant influx of Linux users from the world of Joe and Mary Sixpack Windows98 users that want to jump ship due to Windows98 support issues that are willing and capable of installing any *nix like OS. The article sounds like BS to me.
If they send the students that are already doing well in school to the MS high school it will be successful. If someone thinks that you can send a bunch misbhaved hoods to MS high to be transformed they're dreaming. Good parents beget good students - it's true in the Hamptons and Harlem.
Sounds like public funds are being used to help MS pedal their crap - not good. Just as fast food corp's should stay out of the public school lunch rooms, so should MS stay out of the publically funded schools.
In our household I think I can get that cool robotic arm from Lynxmotion approved for purchase. Should be a great learning experience for the kids. I can hear them now - "Dad can I try it now"?...
While I prefer KDE it seems Gnome could be gaining ground as it has recently become the default desktop for SUSE 10.1. Many new users go with the defaults and people tend to stick with what they know.
What does cellulose have to do with cellophane? Aren't trees and plants made of cellulose? Is cellophane modeled after cellulose? Could a plant eater eat cellophane?
I worked in Mexico for about a year and I'm not sure if it's even possible to buy a legitimate version of software, music, or video. I'm sure you can somewhere but you'd have to look around whereas pirated versions are everywhere. I especially liked the modified sony PS2 with perhaps all availabe ps2 games pre-loaded into the console for only slightly more money than a legit machine ; )
I've tried lots of distros with my usb DWL-122 by D-link and it wasn't until suse (10.0 and 10.1) that it worked without NDISwrapper. Detected, driver installed, and ready to go.

Where the hell would you get a judge and jury that could understand the math (assuming it came up)?
Unless I missed something, a lawsuit was threatened, not filed.

Now if they just get mom and dad to get them one of these laser turntables so their records never wear-out. http://www.elpj.com/

Perhaps I don't understand the support issue, but I doubt someone currently using windows 98 is all that concerned about support for the product.
Ditto for your punctuation. The possessive form of it does not take an apostrophe any more than yours or hers.
I agree. Couldn't possibly be 325 CFM. Perhaps the misspelling of CFM as CMF was deliberate. Could it be Cubic Millimeters per Fortnight?
maybe it's not a troll but the effect is the same. Just use mandriva and find out. Perhaps install it under VMware.

I didn't know that all FET's were superfluous and failing ;)
That seems to be the process. I'm going to get a hold of a copy of that Amazon software and use it to make stock predictions ; )
Centrifuge? No thanks. I prefer to increase my gravity the old fashioned way - with food, beer, and sitting around.
Perhaps citizen will get into the e-reader market as well http://www.engadget.com/2006/04/17/citizen-lcd-ret ains-image-even-when-off/

There is, however, evidence that these folks are migrating from one solid OS to another solid OS. Perhaps they're planning on getting some work done.
