Thats it. I'm just gunna buy a big fat harddrive, a box to make it external, and adapters to make it plug into computers.

Couldn't I just get a laptop as a better alternative to that?

Oh wait there is even something better than that. I can put all my information "securely" online and never have to carry a hard drive, usb thumb, or disc (cd, dvd, blue-ray, hd-dvd) around with me ever.

Any place I need to go and use that stored information will have a computer with internet access anyways.

So to conclude my ultimate solution to storable media is to host your own private FTP at home on a side computer, or even your main computer to save you some money. This solution doesn't have a limit to how much you can store. Current internet sites what give you free storage have too many limits, even with subscription fees these sites have limited storage.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Because then the computer would have to think and having a computer think is bad! Basically it'd have to 'guess' what you meant to code the section as and then pick one and go with it. If it picked the wrong one you might now be saving to the wrong place or running code you didn't intend on having created.

I don't even have an MP3 player and I see a great reason for this specifically shaped screen. You're going to be scrolling though songs. Because it is taller than a normal screen you'll be able to see more songs to choose from on the screen at the same time.

I use Winamp on my computer. The program is all I need for the musical listening. The shape of the interface of Winamp is something that resembles the shape of this screen pretty closely.

Think function when you look at the form. Don't think oh this isn't as attractive as the iPod.

    From Dictionary.com:
    swear
    1. To make a solemn declaration, invoking a deity or a sacred person or thing, in confirmation of and witness to the honesty or truth of such a declaration.
    2. To make a solemn promise; vow.
    3. To use profane oaths; curse.
    4. Law. To give evidence or testimony under oath.

Yes with the stretch of the definition of "curse" you could say he swore, but the curse they're talking about here is associated with oaths.

It wasn't what effectively brought me back. That happened to be the news of the expansion sounding pretty fun. Additionally the fact that some of my friends play religiously still. 14. Re:Would the Beatles have made it today? on How Songs Get Popular · · Score: 1

Well to me music is good based on couple things. One being the complexity and the other if it's catchy. Music being complex might make it catchy. So mainly that means music is good because it's catchy. If your mind heards the music and it pleases you in a way, and that soothing could be a lively dance energy or a relaxing laid back kind, then you'll like it at that time. Popularity, as the article adresses, did the research on just shows that if someone else things a peice is pleasing to them then people who come upon it later will test it out first, which makes sence, and if they find it pleasing then they will stick with it. This goes further though in my thoughts. If you've already found enough music that is pleasing and you're content then you'll stop looking. If you're not content then you'll stop looking. I've seen this many times with my friends. The more 'into' music they are the more they've searched for that pleasing music. A typical person would listen to the radio. If they find what they like on the radio then they'll stick with that. If they only like some of the music on the radio then they'll go search for music. In this day and age that could mean checking it out online or seeing what your friends like. Again we go though the gambit of what's liked by those people as a starting spot. If we're pleased with our first finding and the radio combine we'll stop searching. If we're not pleased we'll keep going. This leads us to the parent post. He has done these same steps in a sence. He landed on The Beatles and Beethoven. He liked them as he said for their talent. He was pleased and not is speaking on behalf od those bands effectively promoting what he's found to be great music. This concludes that since what's on the radio is the first, or easiest, place that people search for music that we have many people promoting Britney, because Britney is on the radio and enough people are content with that, and share their findings.

  16. Re:decent idea... on Designing a MMORPG Feedback System · · Score: 1

I play Maple Story (www.mapleglobal.com/ ,sadly site aka the download of the game is only IE supported) and they do this with Fame. Later on in the game however you need fame to do certain quests and wear certain armour.

Pros of this system: You have to wait till lvl 15 to fame or defame. Meaning a person couldn't easily create multiple characters just to fame or defame someone. Additionally you can only have 3 characters on any given server. So even if they did get them all up to lvl you could only do it 3 times. Oh you can only fame/defame once a day. Additionally you can only fame somoene's account once a month. Meaning if I fame my friend; I can't fame them again for another month.

Cons of htis system: People by fame or pay to defame. Additionally there is no SAFE way to do even that. If you pay someone 5k to fame you then can just leave. If you get famed firt additionally you could just leave them and not pay. There is no punishment either way, besides remembering them and defaming them later. Problem is if you just famed them and they left. That means you have to wait a month to defame them. No a good thing is working against you. Additionally this only puts them back where they where in the first place.

This just is counter productive. It makes it more realistic to the world where you can get scammed, the only problem is the lack of police. This just makes everyone worry about getting scammed. Additionally though if you do fame and get paid you're that much happier, but I don't think it counterdicts the times that you get scammed.

Personally I've come to just buy the fame. I don't scam, and because of this I make them fame me first or tell them no thanks. If I'm in a giving mood I'll make a deal to play half first. Once I got scammed for that half and stoped that policy for a while. Everyone however that eventually decides to fame me is happy and typically says, so others can read, (paraphrased)"Wow I actually got paid". This helps me as others now fame me.

Yes the system gets abused, but it also creats and interesting market economy. It's like fame is a lotto ticket, just with higher odds. ~Wayne
