    That's a bit different. In boxing the judges aren't deciding if the last triple backflip loop-de-loo was pretty enough, they're basically counting head shots. Subtle but important difference.

    I started looking at the comments before watching the video and every other one was putting this guy down and calling him a douche-$(insertwordhere). After watching the video, it appears that half of Slashdot has no appreciation for feeding the inner geek, and is just pissed off that this guy had live females stop and actually talk to him.

    I think even more interesting is what happens when that third tire has a blowout. In a traditional car you still have three good tires and descent handling to make it to the side of the road. In this POS, you just smacked 25 thousand dollars hard into the pavement at high speed. Congrats!

    Since I've been a Texan sice birth, I kinda have to call bullshit here. The 25 question test will get you a learner's permit. That's it. There's an additional 75 or so question test, in which you have to score 80%, as well as a driving test.

    Why, exactly? The last three machines I've been through I have built the machine, yanked the drive out of my old machine, and booted it up in the new one. No problems. Yes, I use BSD and Linux. If this is a problem when doing it with Windows, well then, learn not to buy shit software.

    You might not have. Some of us have. My wife has a Vista machine. Just this past weekend she started to play a video file (Little Mermaid if you must know) for the kids. This file worked perfectly on XP but failed miserably on Vista. I copied it to my FreeBSD box and played it just fine. The most ironic part of this little adventure in software failure....it was a wmv file.

    Wow, so excited to jump out and start bashing on the GIMP that you didn't even bother to read the review. It clearly says "for amateur photographers" as an alternative to photoshop which costs an arm, leg, and both testicles, and doesn't run on anything but the crappiest of platforms. Reading comprehension is one of those magical things most of us picked up around the fourth grade. You should really work on that yourself and see how far it takes you.

    You forgot the best one of all. A few months back there was a story right here on slashdot about cops using a taser on a 7 year old boy who was cutting himself with a piece of broken glass. Of course manual restraint might not have worked, the cops only had about 200+ pounds each on the seven year old.

    Aye, occasionally an AC does post something worthy after all. I have really had it as well with the "It's not GPL, so it's not really open source" nonsense. The fact that the source is now free for me to pull down and hack on as I please is good enough. If I decide to make a commercial venture with the changes I've made, I see no problem with paying back royalties on the hard work that others put into the OS to begin with.

    Surely it can be distributed as GPL2 if it's dual licensed. That's not an issue, but only the author of the software has the right to strip the attribution lines from the code. That violates the BSD license and more importantly, is just a morally bankrupt path to take.
