    So Apple needs to start paying other company's employees fair wages? It would be very difficult for apple to enforce any terms where they set the wages.

    The subsidies nonhydro renewable energy receives account for about 2 of the 10 cents per kWh while all other forms account for fractions of a penny. That's the problem, renewable subsidies are significantly higher then the profits, they would literally be loosing money if not for subsidies.

    It's a one time cost for Netflix to encode content, as long as decoding could be done on a box that's less then $100 there would be little reason for Netflix not to use a codec scheme like this.

    If the employees are good with going without a paycheck for a year or so while all the regulations are met then take a pay cut because they don't want to be accused of gouging their customers I'm sure investors would jump on board.

    While it's unfair to characterize espn's woes solely to their political agenda it also unfair no ignore the repercussions of that agenda. Cord cutting gave many people a choice to subscribe to espn instead of being bundled with every subscription. Espn's political agenda caused many people to devalue their product, no one wants to be preached to when they are trying to watch highlights.

  12. Trips abroad are typically planned out months is advance, the question becomes what was going on in early to mid 2016 that would deter people from traveling to the US. We get it, you don't like Trump, but please try to use some logic in your arguments.

    When the Russians chose to use their PsyOps they had an option of choosing a person had received millions of dollars from speaking fees, business deals, donations to their charity, and campaign contributions from people with ties to Russia. The same person that signed off on allowing Russia to buy a controlling stake in a company that produces 1/5 of the US uranium production. Yet they choose the other guy?

    I find it far more believable that any Russian PhyOps were aimed at undermining confidence in the election process, rather then them influencing the outcome of the next US president.

    I suspect that a lot of this code isn't written by the US Government, but by contractors who can patent/copyright and make it ineligible for this program.

    I suspect you have never worked on a government contract. Even if the government contracting office is inept by government standards this is not going to happen. The government will not pay you to develop software and then let you own it, contractual requirements include delivering all source code for software developed with government funds.

    It could be I am unfamiliar with the algorithm so I can't predict how it would respond when the limits are reached. Before this is hailed as the cure for traffic jams its limitations need to be understood.

    The issue the GP is alluding to is what happens when traffic volume is higher then the max volume the intelligent intersection can handle, what happens when traffic is backed up to the intersection. Roundabouts are great until they reach their capacity then they don't work.

    I recommend looking at the IRS withholding calculator to get an accurate understanding of taxes. Making 91k with the 27.5k award you will pay $20,702 in taxes while only making 91k you will pay $13,834. The 27.5k gets taxed at a higher rate a little over 25% while the 91k is taxed at around 15%.

    I am able to use Thunderbird for our companies exchange server. Mail I connect through IMAP, calendar I use lightning with Exchange EWS, and contacts have native exchange ability. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything configured so it's not a real option for most users.

    be hit with the extra tax on everything you make for the year simply for taking on a side job

    The only way this is true is if you change your W4 and over estimate a secondary income. Otherwise you just pay the tax on the award when you receive it.

    In our company there are many gray beards with specialized FORTRAN software, no one in our company which is filled with engineers, mathematicians, and programmers has volunteered to modernize this software. In fact it's a running joke that updating that software would be used as a method to get the person to leave the company in stead of firing them.
