Its simply a numbers game, if 3 out of 20 can become good programmers will the cost to train the 20 vs hiring 3 experienced programmers who are paid more be cheaper. To go back to the basketball analogy 1.1% of college players are drafted in the NBA while 0.001% of high school players were drafted. There is simply a much higher probability of finding a good player in college.
Market forces are not killing coal, it costs less then 3.5 cents to produce per kwh, it is cheaper then every other form of electricity production. The lifetime costs per kwh for coal are 3 cents cheaper then the lifetime kwh costs for solar. Solar needs to double output and half cost so that battery storage becomes cost effective. Lots of improvement need to happen before the market will start rejecting coal.

The real reason it is economical to print titanium parts is because titanium is so expensive. Adding additional printers is cheaper then the titanium on the floor after milling.
The internet was not created in a free market and should not be treated like one. The backbone providers built their backbone on eminent domain land grabs under the guise of public good. The ISPs made a deal with the socialism devil to build infrastructure and the socialism devil has come to collect. As much as it pains me to say this making internet providers a common carrier was the correct move by Obama. If I build a road I should be able to decide who uses it, if I use the government to force people to sell me their land I forfeit the right to choose who uses my road.
Using eminent domain is a responsibility not a privilege.
As long as ISPs use emanate domain (compulsory selling of private assets for the public good) telephone poles, they should be regulated in a manor that favors public good. If all their poles were obtained through a purely free market arrangement then they should have free market regulations. Free market solutions will only work in free markets
The switch should have no problem with 1080p, it is using the Tegra X1 chip, which is capable of 4k at 60fps. Using 1/4 or an 1/8th of the GPU capability would not be causing overheating. I suspect something else, Nintendo released a patch a few days ago which seemed to fix frame rates dropping below 20, the details of the patch were "Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience." so I can only speculate. My guess is that there were severe inefficiencies in how the GPU was rendering which the patch fixed causing the GPU to run much cooler.
You are correct up to a point, but you seriously underestimate the inefficiency of the federal government. Here are a few of their greatest hits. All the employment records for the federal government are stored in an old limestone mine in Pennsylvanian, there have been many failed attempts to digitize them, the last failure was led by an English major with no technical background, It can take up to a year before people receive their retirement. The system is so notoriously bad they have a policy where beneficiaries receive 50% . The Obamacare website was not originally built to handle the expected traffic. The census bureau and had to revert back to paper copies after they had troubles with tablets. The VA also had to revert back to paper and were in danger of collapsing a floor where they were storing the paper copies.
It must be nice to live in a fantasy world. I can't think a a single situation where a violent person or group was stopped without the threat of or actual use of violence, can you?
It was amusing to see them get burned by that mind set. VS2010 did not support the C99 standard, then suddenly 3 years later vs2013 supported the c11 standard.
Speckman swerved to avoid another car going the wrong way down a one way street. I would not be so quick to put all the blame on her for driving drunk.
The reason many didn't get behind her was not because she was boring but because of her well earned reputation. When given the choice between a pompous, arrogant, jackass or a slimy, deceitful, politician America choose the arrogant jackass.
Manning did not just release information about wrong doing, where whistle blowing protections make sense, he released thousands of other documents. Documents that contained physical descriptions of informants. Those informants were targeted by the taliban and al qaeda. Just because manning is remorseful does not change the nature of his reckless behavior.
You are absolutely correct, the individual components must be taken into account. The simple test is if Samsung infringed on patents from two companies both would be able to claim all the profits. The profits must be split between companies which is no different from Samsung replacing the other company. To take it to the extreme I could build an aircraft carrier and if one light on the carrier was infringing on a patent the light company would have a claim to all the profits.
Your pretty optimistic if you think any of the data is going to be analyzed in real time. The data will be manually scanned after an attack to try to find accomplices. The throughput and/or competency to be able to analyze that much data is not something I'd expect from bureaucracy laden entities. For example all retirement paperwork for the federal employees in the US is managed by 1000's of people in a giant cave where the data is stored in filing cabinets. 3 or four attempts to digitize records and automate the process have been unmitigated disasters.
The way man made diamonds are differentiated from mined diamonds is through the structure. Man made diamonds atomic structure has significantly less irregularities in it then mined diamonds.
Common household chemical? Just checked. I'm flat out of Aluminum Fluoride and Platinum/Calomel. The Argon tank is empty too. I do, as it happens, I do have a bit of HCl in the garage. Can I substitute peanut butter and laundry detergent for the chemicals the experimenters used?
Aluminum Fluoride -> cut up pieces of aluminum foil and put in mouthwash then heat in microwave for 2 minutes
Platinum/Calomel -> put spark plugs in a twix and place over medium heat in a sauce pan.

Smelly people are used to their own stink they rest of the world is not.
Why would you care about how long it would take? You don't have to watch it to completion!.
You may not realize this but your clothes probably have an odor from sitting in the washing machine.

I wouldn't expect warping to occur so fast due to heat, the patch has been out for 4 days.
Their math is still wrong but your reading comprehension is too.
34 / (34 - 20) = 2.4%
Don't forget about the implant ripping out of your body if you get an MRI.

Unless you can prove that the accident would not have happened had she been sober your statement is false.
And that's why you need at least 3 competitors in a market to stop this behavior.

HGTV has its own streaming service, same with the cooking channel, I'm sure the the judges have a streaming service as well.
