Guys, I know everybody likes to make money and live fancy, but if your goals are "I want to eventually make more money than I do now" then maybe its time to re-evaluate why you got that CS degree, because it sure isn't doing you a lot of good now.
If he was on the other team he wouldn't have such good arguments (from our point of view anyway). I had this problem with debates in school, if I was on the side I agreed on, my arguments flowed like truth. If I was on the opposite side, the best I could do was to be the devil's advocate for my team. Its hard to be on the wrong side and not sound ignorant.

So why bother? If the sound is crapped up at the studio you can't really fix it. You might be able to equalize a bit but you can't replace what has been cut out and you can't take out what has been put in. once you fuck up the sound, its fucked
Yes, it is in fact the worst movie ever made. and its not laughably bad like an ed wood film, it goes deeper than that. this movie is the very definition of the "so bad its not even funny" movie. The humor comes from the fact thats its just so god damn boring you want to shoot yourself

funny how most of the people who went to college say its good, and the people who didn't go to college say its bad. To each his/her own? methinks so. Going to college isn't a decision you should have to struggle with. if it is appealing and you have the money, go for it. if it isn't appealing or you don't have the financial resources, get a job and wait a bit. perhaps you will go to college furthur on down the line. Don't make the decision just because you think college is neccesary, do it because you think you will have fun!

Yessss, I can steal songs like I've been doing all along, but now I feel justified by calling it a boycott. Really, I haven't bought a brand new cd (for myself) in the last few years. Now I will call it...standing up for my rights. hehehehe Buy used! Its cheaper, you get cd quality and all that cool artwork, and the RIAA isn't getting your money.
Well...the movie studios DID fund the movie...and the DID make the dvd...so don't they have some say on how it gets used? If you don't like it, don't buy it! They didn't have to release it at all. I sure don't like the studios having control, but if all people do is whine as they fork over their money for a dvd, well I don't see that as very persuasive to the people on the recieving end.
So I turn on c-span, and there are a bunch of nerdy types talking about the great innovations that they've come up with for mp3s, and then there are some suits [cough sony cough] whining about how they won't have any control over the music anymore. Well, can I just say DUH! Thats pretty much the point! If you can't see right now, its probably the blinding flash of the obvious hitting you^. music lovers love mp3 because they can go on the internet and listen to any new music they want, without having to endure hours of the same crappy music repeated over and over again from the radio (and mtv is completely hopeless). mp3 takes the control out of the hands of the big businesses that own the labels and the radio and the distribution channels and gives it to...not the artist...but the listener. No longer will people have control over what I hear and subsequently buy. This whole idea of "the music will die without proper copyright control" is a bunch of b.s. for 2 reasons. 1. I will never pay for an mp3. Its a useful format for evaluating new music, but the sq is absolutely horrid. How anyone could choose listening to an mp3 over listening to a CD is beyond me. If I like music, I am going to *BUY* it, and I think the same thing is true with music lovers everywhere. That being said, however, the idea of spending $18 for a cd, even one that I like, is rediculous. Almost all the cds I own have had other owners, and if I want to buy an album when it is brand new, I will shop for a good sale. 2. Music is not about money! this is a fundamental truth of the universe. Sure, every artist dreams about a big break and making millions--but on the other hand there are many musicians who would gladly pay money for the chance to be heard. I watched it on C-SPAN last night, and sitting in the audience near the front was Karl Marx himself, back from the grave! I wanted him to testify on the virtues of sharing with your common man but he never got that opportunity. Its a shame, as I would have liked to hear his opinions on the matter.
no, you've got it backwards. A geek is someone who is awkward or weird. Such as those interesting people in circus sideshows (like the human pincushion and whatnot), they were sometimes called geeks. I'm not sure exactly what a nerd is, but I think its what you described to be a geek.
What happened to the days when something was posted on Slashdot and people would actually try it out? I would install it and tell y'all about it but the site is still slashdotted. Stop looking at screenshots and try the friggin thing out!
My friend was banned from Napster for allegedly trading Metallica mp3s, he just deleted all his settings and set up a new account. He is back on now. For the record, he didn't even have any metallica mp3s!!! he doesn't even like heavy metal! NetPD screwed up big time.
errr, Be is not tring to compete with Windows and MacOS for the desktop pc. they are focusing on webpad OS named Stinger, hence, they are giving away their desktop os for free. your logic makes no sense.
