When was the last significant riot in America?
The last one of the top of my head was approximately two months ago at the May Day immigration reform demonstration in Los Angeles. It wasn't really a riot because the protesters weren't violent, it was more of a "run the fuck away from the cops because they decided to start shooting at us". However I think it counts because the cops employed tear gas and rubber bullets.

There has probably been a more recent one that I just haven't heard about. There have definitely been larger, more violent protests in other Western countries since then (think G8)

I think if they did, it would get people to notice, instead of dismissing the rioters as silly radicals and changing the channel to forget about it. "Less-lethal" means of oppression make the oppression easier to hide.

Anyways, are you entirely sure it's not defective hardware (not necessarily your video card) or a corrupted driver? Those seem more likely candidates than a consistant driver bug. Especially when the first post you linked to says

so i got the 91.28 drivers and they finally worked, now i can play games like i did before
With a bit more looking, it turns out at least half the pages you linked to have solutions. I stopped reading after that. If you're claiming it's never been fixed yet there's step-by-step solutions in all of the "evidence" you linked to, you either cannot read (unlikely, you can write) or you are trolling.

I don't know what any of you guys are talking about. My instance of Amarok has been running for days now, and processor usage rarely reaches 10%. The only time I ever had CPU issues with it was when I was running badly written extension scripts. Memory usage is around 100MB, which is not totally unexpected considering its complexity, and the fact that I'm playing FLAC files.

So either you're running it under adverse conditions (read: Gnome desktop) or something is wrong with your installation.

Looking at top right now, ktorrent is running between 4% and 10%, amarokapp is running under 4% pretty much constantly, and konqueror spikes to as much as 16%, but only when rendering a page. Earlier, with it open but not doing anything, it didn't even make the top 17 processes, most of which actually list 0.0% as their CPU usage. Total CPU usage hovered around 10% and never went higher than 20%.

Okay, you liked the show. I liked it too, in fact it was one of the few shows I did, but seriously, it's just a TV show. They get cancelled sometimes. The world will not end. In fact it's probably better this way, because you can do something else with your family instead of sitting around and staring at a screen.

This protest shows that people in this country care more about entertainment than they do about the rest of the world, or even their own country. Imagine the attention garnered by doing this same stunt about something that mattered; it would motivate others to get involved.

But all this effort is being wasted on asking a corporation to keep telling a fictional story that doesn't matter anyways. You could have asked them to start reporting real news, or quit suppressing alternative presidential candidates, or something that would have done some good. You could even protest the immorality and stupidity of the 'reality TV' shows becoming more prevalent every season. If you're devoting this kind of action to a cancelled weekly drama, you are either uninformed of the real issues or have too much time on your hands.
