Old news! Wired [wired.com] ran this story three years ago. The technology isn't any more advanced now than it was then. Military.com [military.com] published an extremely informative guide to invisibility last year. Much better than TFA.
TFA actually refers to different technology then was mentioned in your links.
You realize that if a Chinese corporation wants to do business in the United States they are required to abide by the laws of the United States government right? So isn't it logical that an American corporation doing business in China also abide by the laws of the Chinese government?
If not, please explain, I really want to hear this.
You also realize that changing the policy of foreign governments is not Google's job right? You seem to have confused Google with the United Nations. If anything, censored Google results is a good thing as it should anger the people of China, perhaps taking them one step closer to a revolution.
Not science eh, then please exlplain the reason that the ice caps on Mars are melting
Science did, it was the axis tilting, mars needs a bigger moon to stabalize it's axis.
Saying global warming doesn't exist is like saying the dinosours didn't exist and that god put the bones in the ground to confuse us; It is in direct conflict with a mountain of scientific evidence. The global temprature is rising, and even if the result of a climate cycle, we know greenhouse gasses are able to contribure to the retention of planetary heat. From an objective point of view humans are a part of the natural fauna of the earth, so whatever we do is "natrual", the question is: do we really want the consiquences of aiding the global tempreture rise? there are any other number of reasons not to pollute with fossil fules/greengouse gasses, most are similar to the reasons for not taking a shit on the floor of your living room; you don't want shit on the floor that's gross. Similarly I like non-acidic rain, and fresh air I can breath, I also dislike smog, so I don't drive cars(at all, ever).
Last time I got a haircut, A member of the IceCube project was there, we discussed his upcoming trip to the south pole to study neutrinos. I love living in madison.
The IceCube project seeks to verify the obscure theories that lead to these fantastic predictions, what is your problem dude? You an ID fanatic?
So the answer is no I cannot remove IE without breaking the functionality of Windoze. Sounds pretty coupled to me. Unless I am misteken(which I am not) I can install Linux without Konqueror, or KDE, and it will not have any problems, Hell I don't even need X for that matter, tell me, can I install Windoze XP, or 2003 without X? What would you think of an IT admin that used KDE on their server and configured it solely using gui's(yast2 etc.)?
1. Slower
2. More complex
3. Dangerous failure mode
4. Uses lots of electricity
5. Difficult to maintain (no elevator technicians know maglev)
6. Dare I speculate... more expensive?
But at least I get the thing I've always really wanted in a new elevator:
More "comfortable."
Wow, this baby's got legs.
You missed the obvious 7 and 8:
7. It's Asimovian.
8. It's Trantorian.
Now we just need Hari Seldon to have a little chat with Emperor Bush to lay the "foundation" for a new Empire.
Your response sounds like the explination given be Chester Hummin for decay in the Galactic Empire. You must hate "freedom".
I looked into some of the spam getting into my gmail, they were from different domains but all from the same nameserver, and all the domains had just been regestered on the same day I checked. Interestingly they all happened to want my credit card number, and some even claimed to be from ebay.
OS X: A niche OS that is as much flash as it is substance. Garage Band: What? (Google...) Oh. A mixer. Whoopee. FastTracker, anyone? iTunes: Crap that only got marketshare because it's packaged with the overpriced trendwhore magnet called iPod. Spotlight: Again, what? (Google...) An indexing search agent? That's special? I bet my Google Desktop can do a much better job.
I like how people with valid viewpoints get modded "troll" when they disagree with the majority of/. readership. I agree with the above, but in the sake of not being modded troll here goes nothing:
Apple computers are very nice and worth every penny, ipod is the greatest thing since sliced bread, Steve Jobs is a good person that I trust to data-mine my box, ITMS Rawks and so does their DRM, I love spending more on an albums worth of 128 aac files then an actual uncompressed 44khz 16bit cd.
Microsoft makes a nice user-friendly OS that is both secure and stable, and their permissions scheme is just peachy, Bill Gates is a true visionary who has led microcomputing's to rise to the glorious heights it has reached today.
RMS is a stinky communist hippie, and should be disregarded as such. I'm totally not posting this from the firefox browser in the blackbox desktop on my home built AMD64 gentoo workstation, because I know only a capitalist model and closed source can produce quality software, and only a corporate vendor can put together a decent pc.
The above does not in any way represent my actual opinions, but when in Rome right?
What a sterling example that Americans don't really hate the French specifically, they just can't stand criticism and opposition from anyone and instinctively will use put-downs against any such critics. This type of knee-jerk reaction is actually quite amusing.
You do realize(hehe) that you are making a blanket statement about over 350,000,000 people right? Just wanted to make sure you are aware of the ass you are making of yourself.
Since 'volatile' has no 's', then it's 'volatilize'.
In English the correct spelling is 'volatilises'. Worldwide, the majority of English speakers use British English, not American English.
Please keep your spelling, 'culture', and 'cuisine' to yourselves. The rest of the world isn't interested... just ask Baghdad.
I will, thanks. Something about British "'culture', and 'cuisine'" has always turned my stomach. Nasty little island with an inbred populous with bad teeth and ugly women eating goat testicles and such, freaking gross.
It looks sweet. I'm a (one of the few) fans of ebooks. I read many and at the risk of/. heracy I like the M$.lit ebook format (why can't they make a reader for linux?..I just tried, msreader does work in wine) from an ease of reading perspective (it has pages that can be turned using the arrow keys, the screen arount the current page is black). I use an lcd display with the backlight set to the lowest setting, I have also used my ipaq to read ebooks on the go (old ipaq 5063, now long busted). For me the biggest draw of ebooks is the "hands free" nature of reading off my monitor, no wedging my fingers between the pages of the book, or having to sit in an awkward position to see the pages. I can pack a bowl (in my town pot is legal) or eat food without it interupting my reading. The downside to the ipaq was the extra weight involved with the pda and it's expansion pack, as this device is not a pda I expect it should be much lighter
You said it. I have a Logitech g5 laser mouse that is far superior then this looks (I haven't used it), imho of course. This is just an attempt to market a mouse using fatal1ty's increasing presence in the media. That weight design looks atrocious; and for that matter I prefer to leave the weight cartridge empty in my g5 anyway. Also I'm not sure what type of gamers can't tell the difference between 1600 and 2000 dpi, certainly not hardcore ones, I play a decent amount of online fps and I for one can tell a significant difference between the 2000dpi and 1600dpi settings(for that matter I play with the in-game sensitivity settings jacked as well), I would have to imagine fatal1ty can also tell the difference. I did a good amount of research before I decided to purchase my g5, and I think it was $50.00 very well spent, it has improved my gaming experience immeasurably.
Come on now the whole idea that windozexp can run the same legacy hardware as linux out of the box is ABSURD. I guess they never tried xp on a 60mhz pentium pro with 32mb ram like I have, I can guarentee XP WILL NOT RUN ON A 60MHZ PENTIUM PRO WITH 32MB RAM and 900MB HD OUT OF THE BOX. With DeLi Linux it runs quite well, and is used to access the internet/vnc client/word processor.
For LiteOn drives (many other brands/models use repackaged LiteOn, including many Sony drives)you can change/reset/disable the region code quite simply using THIS.
Splurge, for about $80 you can get a geforce 6600 with 256MB ram . thats less then 2 of those games....

I think my point should be clear.
I dislike IE, care to explain to me how to remove it completely from my gaming rig without breaking Windoze? I didn't think so.
Fucking brilliant. -1, no explination. slashdot == failed expirement in moderation.
So, it's:

....seeing this in some documentary awhile back.
I saw it on "Scientific American Frontiers" on PBS.
That was a cool show. They re-run those shows a lot, so check your listing. PBS' site has schedules on it.
They also stream them on the internets.
Who's behind it, and what tactics do they use?
Anti-virus vendors and Microsoft(?); FUD.

Ditto, my g5 is the best thing since sliced bread. I posted this above but perhaps I posted too soon.

DUPE. DUPE DUPE DUPE DUPE. The study and it's findings are just as flawed as the last time they were posted.
