"He's nothing but a low-down, double-dealing, backstabbing, larcenous perverted worm, Hanging's too good for him. Burning's too good for him! He should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!"
What a twisted view of Capitalism. How about a quote from Mr. Wayne...
Devlin Warren: I dont know what to say. Never begged before. Turned
my stomach. I suppose I should have been grateful that you gave me
the job.
George Washington McLintock: Gave? Boy, youve got it all wrong. I
dont give jobs I hire men.
Drago: You intend to give this man a full days work, dontcha boy?
Devlin Warren: You mean youre still hirin me? Well, yes, sir, I
certainly deliver a fair days work.
George Washington McLintock: And for that Ill pay you a fair days
wage. You wont give me anything and I wont give you anything. We
both hold up our heads. Is that your plug?
Well, no. Tritium is easily produced by neutron bombardment of Lithium 6. You get He4 and a T. Fortunately the DT reaction produces a neutron that can be captured to create more T. Also fortunately, Lithium is reasonably abundant. At least for this purpose, I'm not so sure about car batteries!
Dr. Dave Bowman: Well, he acts like he has genuine emotions. Uhm, of course, he's programmed that way to make it easier for us to talk to him. But as to whether or not he has real feelings is something I don't think anyone can truthfully answer.
There are progressives and then there are progressives. My first pair sucked bad, but then I went to a real ophthalmologist not Lens Crafters, and she turned me on to these essilor. They have a much wider sweet spot and actually work as they should! They cost more but are worth every penny.
I have an Edison cylinder phonograph that still works. I also have a wire recorder and a Dictaphone page recorder.
The page recorder uses 8.5x11 sheets of mag-tape wrapped around a drum which spins and the record/playback head follows a lag screw down the cylinder. Think about a lathe turning metal.
My oldest computer; I gave to my brother. It is a Altair 8800b Turnkey. Came with 1K of RAM and 1K of PROM which contained the boot loader. Mine was real fancy and had a 4K memory card and you can load CP/M from tape. I gave it to my Bro because he used to work for MITS in Albuquerque.
Make sure the tape sprockets turn easily. If not the player will think it is at the end of the tape and switch directions. What I don't like about these things is the tape player motor runs constantly. But, I guess they are rated to not wear out too soon.:(
A good example of practical AI is at the heart of that purchasing card that you pay off every month. You know the green one;) They process all transaction from everywhere in the world at the data center in Phoenix. No set spending limits means a "judgment" is performed on every transaction. If the charge is "reasonable" based on your spending pattern, it is authorized. If you buy jets with your card, it's authorized. If you by bread and an occasional trip out of town, that's all it will let you do (no jets).
This check is performed by a very slick and efficient AI code running on a very large Connection machine. At least it was a few years ago. I'm not sure what big iron they are using today, but I'll bet that code is still running.
My good for little HMO costs me and my employer $6000 per year. 300M people would cost 1.8 Trillion bucks. Even with negotiated savings we're talking in the neighborhood of $1T per year. It might be worth it, but that is one hell of a new entitlement program.
Thank you for your business.
Yup. The wavelength of 60 Hz is 5M meters, full wave.
Ya, but my grocer doesn't sew my mouth shut when I leave his store!

Seriously, if you want everybody to know about it, try to keep it a secret!

Gee, I wonder what color I am? I hope it's blue.
He already used that one and needed a new excuse.

Now I feel older than dirt... Get off my lawn!
Damn it, another robot! Throw it back... I want a tuna!
Damn! I guess I'll have to buy the White album again!
My duct tape produces cold fusion!
I just had a horrible thought of Clippy popping up and saying "You look like your trying to draw a picture! Do you want me to download Paint?" Arg!
I envision parking meters with cords or sockets. Throw in a few quarters and the town makes money and you get a charge.
You shouldn't tug on Superman's cape!
Are you trying to tell me Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?!?
Just pour it back in the electolyzer. Or put the electrolyzer in the car and plug it in at night. Gas and no water by morning.

Do craplets run under wine???
I don't see the uniqueness of this new plastic. Besides, I thought all LCD displays used conductive plastics.
